Freo supporters, would you rather lose Schammer or Dunn and pick 11?

Apparently thats about the asking price for J.Carr. Just wondering what other supporters think.

Personally i think Dunn and 2nd round is enough. Throw in a swap of our 1st round picks to make it more attractive. But it doesn't seem port are going to concede.

I would give them a choice of Dunn or Pick 11 and pick 27 (Dunn and pick 11 are both first rounders, but I would prefer to keep Dunn, but to get talent, you have to give talent)

Do not trade any of them, what ever we get for Simmonds and our first round pick is more than enough. Youth is our future.

Dunn and pick 11 would be alright I think. Schammer's making too much rapid improvement at our club and we want to see him blossom even further. I really want Josh Carr to get here!

None of them, lets keep them all. In afew years Schammer and Dunn could be two of the best onballers in the comp. Lets forget Carr for the time bieng and start trying for Heath Black, McGough who wont cost the world. Is Joel Corey available?

I agree with neither.
Schammer in my opinion will be a better player than Carr
Dunn and Pick 11 has a greater value than carr.
Chase black....offer a late 2nd round draft pick.
Try and do a deal with Simmonds.
Then maybe come back to port for Carr.
Leave them to last

I agree champ - I reckon that is as fair a deal as we will get
I see where you are coming from with regard to scham and pav, and obviously i rate J carr very highly.

If it came down to it I would do that deal. I really rate Josh Carr, but you have to give up something special to get a good player. I just heard that we might have offered Simmo a 4 year deal and that he is now likely to stay. I wonder what effect it will have on us chasing either Carr or Heath Black. It would also rule out our leverage of offering Carr 600,000 in the preseason draft.

Carr was always going to be tough to get, but I get the feeling that trading Dunn is a bad idea will come back and bite the Dockers on the Rs over the next few years.

this is my first post, so forgive me if you dont agree with wat i have to say.
now. dunn or schammer- i say neither. we shouldnt sell the farm to get what we need. for years it seems that fremantle has had a problem with developing our own talent, shipping off our youngsters and bringing in players who will seemingly 'plug the gaps', which opposition supporters can constantly remind us of, ie. mcphee.

Schammer will be a gun, purple haze or none. we know that he can have a major impact on games, he wants to play for us -loyalty is an asset that should be highly valued by a football club in this age of materialism- and he is 19 years old! why in your right mind would you get rid if him, even if it was for a top midfielder who admittedly will bring something we need to the side, but will cost us $$$ for the fact hes just played in a premiership and is a VC of the club. we owe him no favours to bring him here, and we should definitely stop a long way short of giving up a great young player like our man schammer.

Now for Dunn. Why get rid of an unknown quantity? He hasnt played enough this year to be considered to be 'out of form' or struggling to make the AFL grade due to his injury, and when he did play he didnt set the world on fire but he was solid for a 1st year player with a light frame. i dont want to see in 5 years time PAFC def. Fremantle. BOG- Riley Dunn. Keep them both. while we may need carr, we also need to realise the bigger picture- we can keep our boys and have pick 11 in the draft and get another good youngster... get rid of 2 possibly quality young players for one good, albeit highly inflated midfielder.

thats just my 2 cents.

Trading Dunn, murphy is dangerous and could easily bite our bums again!

If we want Carr we need to use players from elsewhere and throw in picks.

I can see where you're coming from stormee.

I'm pretty sure everyone agrees with keeping schammer.

Losing Dunn is indeed risky, but we cant kid ourselves into thinking Port will accept woods grover and t.lo. Carr is a good player and he's only 5 years older. Assuming he plays til.. say.. 32, that's 8 more years we get out of him.

You make my point in your own post, Dunn is an unknown atm, and he could turn out to be gold and good on him, but he could turn out to be shaun mcmanus (who was touted as a brownlow medallist etc etc) which is in no disrepects to shauny, just proving a point that promise doesn't always equal deliverance (yes, this doesnt take into account the knee's)

i would want scham but if not dunn and pik11

No need, pick him up in the pre-season draft for $600,000! Serves Mark Williams right (not to mention make him an embarrassment to the rest of the footy world for giving up 2 quality midfielders for nothing in return). Keep our players, gain Carr, sure we lose a fair chunk of money but we're gaining quality players without loss!

Looking at it now. I really think that we shouldn't lose either. Our compensation for Simmonds + 1st round should be enough.

What you guys think of the following:

Dockers
Lose: Simmonds + pick 11 (+TLo maybe)
Gain: Carr

Geelong
Lose: Enright + pick 16 + pick 32
Gain: Ottens

Port
Lose: Carr
Gain: Enright + pick 16 + pick 32 (Port could use 32 to snare Shattock)

Richmond:
Lose: Ottens
Gain: pick 11 + Simmonds (+TLo if you think that nots enough)
(Simmonds being worth pick 16 - so essentially Richmond getting two 1st rounders and keeping PSD no. 1)

The only winners in that trade are Freo and Geelong, with Port very much losing out, and Richmond settling for a lot less than they have asked for. Heck, Sydney could match that sort of deal.
