Getting Dusty and keeping Goldy hmmmm

In the the 'trade Goldy' talk, it has always been with the caveat of us needing to pay a certain amount of his salary. How much? Assuming $800K p.a., do we need to pay $300K or $500K, at least initially as we presuppose that a club willing to trade for him wouldn't be prepared to take on that salary, particularly in the more recent form he's been in, versus 2015 form.

If we go the other way, and keep Goldstein, and traded Majak (if there were buyers), I assume that the receiving club would pay all his salary of, what, $300K p.a.? In short, from a salary cap point of view, would it come close and we keep Todd, not Majak?

At best, we have the situation Snake_Baker is positing (the benefit of a midfielder, instead of two ruckman needed with Preuss/Majak), while at worse, we have Goldy teaming with Preuss, instead of Majak. While the salary differential might not be reflective of current form, it sure as hell reflects the ceiling each player has.

We've been front ending players for the last two seasons. Next season we could massively front end both Josh and Dusty and then level it out over the rest of their contracts. If the Swans for example can maintain their list above board we can do this.
