Recommitted Dylan Stephens [re-signed for two years]

Looks like you’ve joined us now that Port are out of the finals, champ.
You see this is the difference between a Port supporter and an Essendon supporter. We can see our team humbled but at least we can be assmusing when throwing out a taunt at another club, rather than just throwing an inane sledge out there and even worse throwing the "champ". No sense of humour, I blame it on having to listen to Sheedy ramble on for so many years.

I think the PSD threat would also loom, 1 day left in trade period no deal done he would re-sign anyway because….north so unless it’s a future first (which I wouldn’t do if I was the pies) I really can’t see a trade. Zero chance club trades him for a future second, not due to value but due to the amount of pie on footy dept face.

Might get Picks alongside Stephens IF Future 2nd is Traded

Is he out of contract? I rather Collingwood walk him to PSD. We dont have any draft capital to give up for him. And we shouldn't be trading out future picks after the debacle of last year's trade and draft period.
How do you get Lipinski as well? You’re going to have to trade future picks I think.

Assuming what you said is true (I haven't really watched him all that closely), I don't see how gets to Collingwood, the PSD threat won't work as The Pies are still hamstrung by a tight salary cap so they cannot actually get him to put a huge price on his head, North defintley would gladly snap him as a free hit if he went into the PSD.

Richmond with their Geelong First Rounder Pick could be one to watch, if they think they could get him to excel, especially in the Guts as you say, something could be done there.
North might take CCJ to the PSD.

Future 2nd?

I think that is fair myself, given Pies are likely bottom 3 finishers again next season, but I think the Swans might want more than that.

Seems a bit strange if what Tom Morris said is true, only Collingwood or Swans. Would have thought Essendon would have been a good fit for him too.

Well he most likely stay a Swan IF they want more

Thank god we don’t have to deal with DODO!!!

Swans will certainly want more, but I also wouldn’t want to give that up if I was pies. I assume it will get traded for picks this year to help with lipinski….

Yeah Essendon were in the mix as of a few days ago, but guess he has a preference.. Maybe just thinks would get more senior opportunity at pies than essendon -- which is fair enough.

I think with George Hewett on the way out to (very likely) Carlton, I would imagine Horse and the Swans administration could try promise/guarnatee Stephens much more of an opportunity next season.
He certainly is not motivated by money or a go home factor it seems, but a chance for a fair crack in the seniors.

Clubs don’t gamble like that. They trade on what they know.
Not saying they do, but it's the exact same predicament as a young KPP. You don't let a top 5 KPP go for shit all because they haven't shown much in their first 2 seasons. And although KPPs do typically take longer, Stephens is in a similar position, in that he's just not built enough to play his position yet.

Future third and Brayden Sier if you're keen!
