Don't really appreciate being called a liar, but I'll let it slide.

When you have a full forward like plugger, it's fine to use an open forward line type approach, thereby essentially flooding the backline. It was exciting I suppose.

When Plugger faded and retired, the style became bogged in the negating/flooding approach. It became increasingly boring to watch, and increasingly less effective. This is a personal taste thing I suppose, but living in Sydney I had the benefit of being a Swans member (being football starved at that time) and either seeing every Swans game live or on TV, so at least my "lie" comes from first hand experience. I can say that from my perspective it was anything but exciting.

If you want to talk about "coulda been top 4" well we could have been top spot last year if we'd won the close ones. Ayres loses them and it's all about his game day coaching. Eade loses them and he's a tactical genius? What the...?!

I was dissapointed with the Talking Footy program last night in regards to the Eade interview.
There was barely any mention of him going to Adelaide and when they did it was only briefly.
I did notice what Rocket said about calling Ayres but I think jars got in right in that he was just having a laugh.

I thought Parkin made a good point on TFS last night when he said a coach needs to be versatile and structure the play according to the type and capability of the players.

I would be disappointed if Eade introduced exactly the same style of play as he did at Sydney. Different players, different ground...I reckon he's smarter than that.

a question- when a coach gets sacked from a club, does he get the hint about not playing that style of football? that it wasn't worth them keeping him at their club? I'm guessing most the time when a coach gets sacked its because of the way they are playing the game, then also the way they handle themselves to the board.

So being Eade to the Crows he MIGHT change his game plan? he might not? who knows. All most people realise is Eade has something the Craig doesn't. Eade has AFL experience under his belt. Craig as a bike.

You never know if the Crows don't hire Eade, and use Craig instead I would feel rather let down.

-edit i forgot a word... :(

Certainly, he may well have changed his gameplan with the benefit of being out of the system for a couple of seasons, he might not have. What we do know is his gameplan was a groundbreaking success at the Swans and quite revolutionary for its time - indeed, now most if not all coaches play a flooding style gameplan at times - it's become an accepted part of the modern coaches arsenal.

Either way, Eade is a far superior option to ol' L-plates - and I'd be feeling let down with you if he was ignored for the latter.
