AKA the Second Annual Rowan Jones Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence.

We probably need a better name.

Anyway, results from your votes are being diligently tallied and will be revealed progressively in this thread during the season, until some point later in the year when votes will go in-camera (that's a fancy way of saying we'll stop announcing them to avoid giving away the winner).

Round 1 - Western Bulldogs v West Coast @ Etihad

After a tight first half the Eagles ran out comfortable winners by 49 points.

Your votes were as follows:
Code:
Name Tot. Weighted average
Josh Kennedy	301	4.85
Scott Selwood	232	3.74
Matt Priddis	170	2.74

Ashton Hams	4	0.06
Jack Darling	3	0.05
Luke Shuey	2	0.03
Chris Masten	1	0.02
Adam Selwood	1	0.02

(The weighted average converts the votes back to the 5-4-3-2-1 total, so the maximum a player could get is 5. It is designed to ensure that equal weighting is given for each match).

West Coast has decided to strike a medal for the best afield in the Eagles-Bulldogs clash, honouring a past great of both clubs. As this game was the WEST Coast Eagles against the WESTern Bulldogs, it is only fitting that the award be named after Robbie West.

The inaugural winner of the Robbie West Medal, as voted by you, is Josh Kennedy.

Thanks FS.

Early days obviously, but it's starting to look like EMac has matured and is starting to take that senior role from Glassy. As much as I rate EMac, I've always thought we'd be very vulnerable if Glassy copped a LTI. These days, I still think we'd miss Glass, but I think we could cope.

Great format and the numbers man in me approves the use of weighted averages :).

On a seperate note I like naming the match after a "great" from both clubs although I am not sure if the naming "the great" is in jest or for real.

If its in jest I am confused at how Bulldogs - WCE medal was not named after Andrew Mcdougal.

If its supposed to be a genuine "great" then surely Peter Wilson/Ben Cousins, Daniel Chick and Craig Turley names are better choices.

He won't be once the other 2 rounds are counted...did you not agree he was BOG against GWS?
Yeah that's true I spose. Yeah I gave him 5 that day, I guess apart from Scooter the votes have been pretty well spread. Just found it funny given that he's had a pretty average start to the year IMO.

Also amazing how low nicnat is. Against Richmond his tapwork was outstanding and should of at least get him 2votes.

Yeah well the votes do reflect that. Other than his BOG he's been rated our 13th 7th and 9th best. His game against the tigers won't attract any votes and against the roos he will get minimal.

Expect Kerr, Priddis, Darling and possibly Waters to leapfrog him after round 6 votes which will leave him 5-6th which is fair enough IMO.
