Just read on the WC site that Kempy is going to wear a concussion helmet. Good idea me thinks...Travis Gaspar is also getting a run this week. What does everyone think of the game. Is it being played here or over there?

My team for this week...

Ok the team I think will be played this week is as follows:

FB: Collica Gaspar Carroll
HB: Pe Matera Cox Wirrpunda
Cn: Kemp Cousins Banfield
HF: Taylor Jakovich Williams
FF: Ph Matera Wilson Munro
Ru: Gardiner Fletcher Braun
Int: Kerr Embley Chambers Hunter
Em: Turnball Jones

As you can see, that backline is absolutely shocking. Collica is not overly tall, Gaspar is on debut and Carroll has shown jack all so far to suggest he will make the grade. Unfortunately, our 2 fullbacks are both injured so what are we meant to do? I have seen Embley play down back some times and whilst he did allright for the time he played down there, some 20 minutes, he would not last the whole game. OH WHAT ARE WE TO DO!!!

I dont get your team Vis? Cox a veteran of 7 AFL games holding down a key position of CHB?? And Jones not even in the team? I would switch Jones for Munro and have Jones start at Half Forward and Turnball should play, he showed effort on sunday and playing down back for some of the time and was reasonable.
I hope Gardy and Matera come back.

Yeah K just found out, it just gets worse and worse. I remember at the first bounce down of the Port game. The second sentence after Primus wins the ball down to Francou was theres an eagle down in the middle of the ground????

Stupid ********ing injuries.

Do you think the fact that Judgey knows how some of the players may give us an advantage? Also having Collica and Taylor who know the weaknesses of their previous teammates? I hope so cause we are going to need a lot of help!

i wrote this in the other thread, but this is my side for this week:

Backs..............Michael Collica.......Travis Gaspar.........David Wirrpunda
Half Backs........Peter Matera.........Andrew MacDougall..Richard Taylor
Centre.............Daniel Kerr............Ben Cousins...........Drew Banfield
Half Forwards....Andrew Williams.....Michael Gardiner.....Dean Kemp
Forwards..........Phil Matera............Troy Wilson.........Jeremy Humm
Rucks..............Dean Cox..............Michael Braun........Chad Fletcher
Interchange......Ryan Turnbull..........Glen Jakovich......Kane Munro.........Andrew Embley

I reckon we should give MacDougall a run. If we find out he's not strong enough, then so be it. Also if Gaspar struggles, we can move Jakovich or Turnbull into key back positions.

I don't think we would win with that side, but i don't think we could beat the Hawks even with our strongest side at the moment.

But i think we could use this game (a game which we would struggle to win anyway) as a game to give some youngsters some experience.

So many changes

The following who were injured could get a run this weekend:
Embley
Gaspar
Braun
Peter Matera
Gardiner
Munro

Official Team

Off the realfooty website:

WEST COAST (to play HAWTHORN )

Backs: Wirrpunda Carroll Williams
Half-backs: Harding Jakovich Collica
Centres: Braun Cousins Taylor
Half-forwards: Embley Turnbull Fletcher
Forwards: Hunter Wilson, Phillip Matera
Followers: Gardiner Banfield
Rover: Kemp
Interchange: Chambers Cox Gaspar Kerr

Emergencies: Green Haynes Munro
In: Braun Carroll Embley Gardiner Gaspar
Out: Jones (back) McIntosh (quad) Merenda (hamstring) Morrison (foot) Prior (knee)

New: Travis Gaspar, 20, South Fremantle

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is one really really dodgy defence. Carroll hasn't shown much this year, Wirrpunda watches the ball and is not a proper defender and Williams hardly ever plays down back. Then CHB aint much better either, Harding, so far a dud, Jakovich who isn't playing well and is getting slow and the only good player in our whole defence Collica. Gaspar will play down back this week, guaranteed. Dont be surprised if Embley also pops up down there also. I'm glad that Hunter is playing, he is turning into a good player I feel.

McDougall is no where near playing yet. He is still only 17 years old and has the mentality of a 15 year old.

He will need at least another year to learn how professional footballers should handle themselves ie. getting to training on time, and also the actual game. For reasons such and these, he has shown he is not disciplined enough to get out there and mix it with the big boys. (He only played reserves last week also, so obviously he is still a way off playing AFL.)

Are any Melbourne-based bigfooty Eagles fans going to the game? I think its live over here in Perth. Anyway, 2 hours to the start, hope its a good game!
