Well 2nd week in November and a week of 35 +

So are we in for a long one or early and by mid to late Jan it will be cool again

Thankfully i dont work in a furnace area any more :thumbsu:

Hell, I don't like it once it gets above about 27. I hate the summer :( No footy, damn hot, no teaching (and therefore no extra cash), regular tv programs are off.

At least I still get to act like a kid at Christmas time :p:thumbsu:

Ditto to all of that :thumbsu: - well except the no teaching thing since I don't teach.

I hate summer with a passion . One year I am going to do an around the world trip and have 12 months without summer - stay in Australia for the 6 months of autumn/winter for the footy ;) then go over to America for 3 months then Europe for 3 months, then fly home just in time for new footy season :).

Yep agree with this - good call Stabby.

Except the no teaching part, that means no uni and no uni means I’m on holidays and I'm not doing summer school. Only idiots do that - literally and metaphorically. However, i do need to get a second part time job as i would like a bit more moolah.

To answer the question – I think once we get over this hot period we will have a dry but cool phase during December and then the heat will really pick up again in January, February and March. So a long summer.

I HATE SUMMER.

Anyone else thinking of a move to Hobart? ;)
Dear, god, I hope not, BOM says 34 for Sunday.

Am glad it's cooler for my two uni exams on Monday. 40 degrees at Wayville all day would not be fun.

Where'd you get 40 from Drummond?

I hate this kind of weather! But I moreso hate the people that say "I love summer" or "I can't wait for summer" or "I love over 35 degree weather" **** off. :thumbsu:

Don't we usually only get one long heatwave throughout summer? Does this mean we're getting it out the way early? :p

But seriously, its not even summer yet :(

I LOATHE summer, and the excessive heat that comes with it. I get so weak and helpless in the heat; I just can't get a grip on anything, I drop things more often because I just don't have the strength to hold it (when normally I'd have no problem holding on to to the exact same thing in winter). I also get sunburnt so easily it's not funny; even if I take every sun protection method possible (putting on plenty of sunscreen before I go out and reapplying regularly, wearing a hat, sunglasses and long sleeved top, staying in the shade as much as possible, and also using an umbrella as a sunshade when I have to go out in the sun). No matter what I do, I still get burnt. And the headaches I get at this time of year. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. :( Summer can go and get stuffed as far as I'm concerned. I'd be quite happy if I never saw it again.

I think that everytime they show the national weather and while everyone has 35+ temperatures, they're down the bottom with a nice 24 degrees. I hate Tasmania

Although with those temperatures - it says on the adelaidenow website that it'll be 34 in Adelaide on saturday then 29 :)thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:) on sunday...

Edit: FML! I just checked the temperature for Murray Bridge for Saturday - 41 degrees (well it's going to be 40 on wednesday & thursday, then 41 friday & saturday), excuse me while I go jump off a cliff....

I hope it's cool until by next Thursday - not really in the mood to go to the Crows first pre season session if it's gonna be 35+

I HATE THOSE PEOPLE TOO! even worse when all winter they're like "HURRY UP SUMMER" then they have the nerve to complain about the heat...

bring it on I say, I work outside and yes, its a pain in the arse, but the after work beers taste better. There is also nothing better than heading down the beach round 6ish, having a dip, throwing in a quick line and catching dinner.

In the sun on a nice 28 degree day yes there isn't much better than that! but in 39 degree heat? I can think of a million better things than standing on a jetty.

My sister is going to England on Saturday - I'd kill to go with her right now!

It's freezing cold and miserable over there at the moment, my pommy relatives who were here not long ago absolutely hate the weather and wish they were back here. They were here for one of our summers and while it was bloody hot, they said the "perks" that come along with our summers make it a better time than any time of year in England.

That is to say - BBQs and pissups all the time, diving into the pool at midnight, sleeping under the stars on New Year's with it being warm enough not to need blankets, cruises up the Murray, fishing trips, beaches that aren't rubbish, beach cricket :)thumbsu::thumbsu:) and so on.

Sure it's really hot but there's a lot going for our summers. Should think ourselves lucky :thumbsu:

I wouldnt head down in that temp either, but like I said at 6 or whenever, when it drops a couple of degrees its perfect, nearly makes the unbearable heat during the day worth it.
