Firstly I would like to thank Telstra for only taking 2.5 months to get my internet connection up and going again, good work guys. NOT!!!!!

Now back to my post. Sundays derby has to be one of the best games of AFL that I have witnessed. Tough and hard all day, a credit to both teams.

What I would like to know from you Freo fans is your true feeling regarding your team. It has taken them 18 rounds and the realisation that finals are probably out of reach to play with passion, strength and unity.

Are you ecstatic with their performance or disillusioned that the gap between their best and worst is so large??

If they'd played the other 17 games this season with half that passion it'd be top 4 for sure.

Devestated it has taken us this long, but i think cuddles can take a fair portion of the blame for that.

hahaha. Hit the nail on the head there.

I do get frustrated that your mob seems to get up more often than not for derbies. Shits me to tears to be honest.:(

If only you rolled over for us like you did for the Cats then we could all come on here and tell you how crap you are.:p

In some ways though I was a little disappointed we beat you first up this year - we have never beaten the Dockers in a premiership year.

well thats a record you can look forward to keeping in tact. you have about as much chance of winning it as we do.. no chance!

No you get real. Eagles fans are so arrogant that they think we must have played better than any other time to have beaten them, Truth is no, we played as well before but the opposition was better.
I think your location says something about you, or your understanding of how we've played this year. Apart from the Adelaide game, we haven't played a game like that all year - and if you don't know that, you haven't been watching.

We played so ferociously against West Coast and Adelaide, to me it was a consistent style of football in relation to each other. It was 4 quarters where it looked positive, the players looked forward and concentrated on beating their opponents.

I really think there is an air of change within our club at the moment, it took a few events to kick us into gear.

Whether or not we make the finals this year, 2008 will be very promising. It's games like Crows/Eagles that put everything into perspective and I think it would be impossible for the players not to see it.

Ambition is the poor man's drive!

We have played some good footy and not come away with the points. A few errant kicks on goal, some inopportune decisions by the umps and its a bad result. WC aren't so fabulous that we have to have played out of our skins to have beaten them, that's just the over inflated opinion of them by the fans and the media hype.

The win over Adelaide didnt have passion? **** off for another 2 and a half months.

I don't know about you guys, but I have been fairly appalled at the standard of our play during most of our home games this year. We have played well in patches, but never put 4 good quarters together (except for against Carlton and maybe Hawthorn too).

There were lamentable lapses in the home games against Port, West Coast, Adelaide (good finish though), Richmond, Kangaroos, Geelong (all game).

I think the poor fans deserve to see some Freo magic in a home game.

We will thump Essendon.:D
The first quarters against Carlton and Hawthorn were crap too.

West Coast and Adelaide have been our only great four quarter wins for the season.

No we haven't. We've played poorly in patches against every club this year except Melbourne. The Adelaide and West Coast games redeemed us a bit

And we have looked nothing like we did last year.

The chemistry wasn't right this year, and it is probably a number of factors. New recruits expected to slot into the team immediately, poor discipline resulting in player suspensions (in house and tribunal), flakey form for key players. Injuries however aren't much of an excuse, everyone has them.

As much as I respect what he gave to the club, a lot of the blame has to rest with Connolly. Remember, this was the guy who REFUSED to aim for finals in 2004 after making the finals in 2003. That is at the very least an aim all clubs should have, especially if you've already made it. This is the guy who, after a loss, would talk up the team's chances based on how many home games we have left. You've gotta make your own form, be active in how you approach footy. Connolly was a reactive coach, and the team played reactive, slow football. He looked forward to things falling our way, rather than making out own luck.

I've got a question for you... Are you embarrassed or proud of your club and the majority of its supporters after a full week of whinging and squeeling?

You actually helped my argument by only being able to name 1 other game where freo played with passion this season.

You've just proved that it doesn't take a long neck to be a goose.

Mmmm, and how would you react if Pav was elbowed in the throat, Bell was punched in the face, McAnus was knocked to the ground while being out of play with no free kicks being played????

History shows that we don't react anything like you lot.

Your CEO's effort on the back of the West today should embarass you, although if you, like him, think that Sollie actually meant to elbow Chick and therefore should've been reported, then you are probably proud of him.
And to answer your other whinges, mate we cop that shite every week from the umps, but we don't have our CEO report to the West and our supporters don't block the talkback lines for a WHOLE week!!!

Thanks for answering the question though. I thought as much.;)

So to summarise the above......our two best wins for the season have come with Harvey in control.

No conspiracy theories at all but just an observation of the future.

To early to tell maybe?

Mmmm, and how would you react if Pav* was elbowed in the throat, Bell** was punched in the face, Mcmanus*** was knocked to the ground while being out of play with no free kicks being played????

* Dont ever, NOT EVER, compare Chick to Pavlich.

**Bell always gets punched in the face but "big boys don't cry".

*** Macca is rarely in play. (and the serial assault artist got a free)

Now go away.

I just didn't spend more than half a second thinking about it. No problem finding examples. In fact, we played with passion twice against Adelaide. The 1 point win at Subi earlier this year, then the win away at AAMI. We played with great passion against WC. The win against Hawthorn was up there and the absolute belting of Carlton was a better effort than most clubs against the pending wooden spooners. A 63 point win against Essendon in what was practically an elmination final was pretty damn special as well.

'You'e just proved that you are a ****head'.

Probably the same way we did when Seaby broke Sandi's jaw. We copped it sweet. Did we dob him into to the tribunal?

And probably the same way we did 10 years ago when we watched our players getting the living bejezus belted out of them. We poor suckers have had the 92 and 94 premierships rammed up our jacksies for 15 years, and yet 40,000 ignoramus conveniently forget what got dished out to get them.

Last week was really the most embarassing week for WCE and their supporters. Worst crowd ever. Police around the opposition dug out. Whining on the back pages from the CEO.

If I was a WCE poster on flying high or BF, I'd be arguing that our club is becoming a joke. You might be winning but you got absolutely no respect left. Maybe that's not important to WCE fans.

* Dont ever, NOT EVER, compare Chick to Pavlich.

There is nothing wrong with comparing Chick and Pavlich. You could say, for example, that Chick is only good at beating his wife, whereas Pav is a stand up citizen who should be knighted. You couldn't liken the two however. One is a thug, the other is a god amongst men.
