Only out played in the last quarter. Was 2 kicks before that. EK did better then I thought. But PV too good in the end

After watching Strathmore demolish Keilor yesterday I pretty sure your team will be watching on in September

I wouldn’t be counting EK out from now. I bet they make finals, They have exceeded everyone’s expectations by a mile already for their first year up.

Next year they will be a massive problem when they drop 20+ points

Anyway did you watch the Keilor v Strathmore game ? Keilor just play horribly or strathmore just dominated?

Saying that when your ruckman has a field day,must have had 70 tap outs, I’d say you are going to have a good day. Without a ruckman Keilor cannot win the flag.

Yeah they need to recruit one in the off season for sure, problem is it’s the hardest position to recruit for (a good one anyway). Not many 6 foot 5 blokes running around lol.

I thought it was top 4, except the higher divisions played 1v2 and 3v4, whilst the lower divisions played 1v4 and 2v3.

Definitely been top 5 for a few seasons.

I went and watched EK vs Pacco Saturday, watched the end of the ressies and EK had a full bench..

Other than the first 10-15 mins of the game where EK dominated, Pacco were in control pretty much all game. Pacco's defence is very strong they wont 'smash' teams but they defend the ground the best out of the better teams. Having said all that Watto being goaless and they still kick 15 goals to win by 9 goals is impressive. I went up for a beer post game and whoever did the speech for EK post game shouldn't do it again! Don't blame covid for losing!!

I feel EK will do well to make finals the other 4 are much stronger IMO.

Agree, it’s about time the EDFL introduced a final 5. Every other 10 team league that I am aware of, apart from the EDFL have had a final 5 for ages now. Northern, Western Region, Amateurs, Southern, Ovens and Murray, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Gippsland, Hampden, Riddell (9 teams) etc.

Too often in the EDFL the final 4 has been set in stone after 10 rounds. Making it a final 5 would keep those teams 5-7 fighting for that last position a lot longer, rather than their season becoming meaningless and petering out halfway through. Keeps supporters of more teams more engaged and for longer if their team still has a chance of playing finals. Makes for a lot more vibrant and interesting competition.

from memory clubs were asked for their opinions on this topic a few years ago and the consensus was to stick to a top 4

Personally, I haven't seen it as a necessary step as 4th has often been a fair way off the Keilors, Abers etc. but with Pacco/EK closing the gap it's probably a policy due for a review.

How come you didn’t come down turbo? Thought you were a pacco man.

In my opinion Stewart beat out Sikora. Don’t think many ruckman in the comp bar Meese will give him too much trouble. Can’t wait to see that match up, hopefully they can both play next time the teams play.

Never seen Ahern play in edfl so not fair for me to comment but heard he was an absolute beast (believe he’s retiring?). Not making excuses But we can’t be comparing players that were out, ek had about 8-10 some play very important positions and their coach and captain out. (Before someone states the obvious, Yes all of them don’t fit but most do)

But yes EK have pretty much guaranteed top 5 so a great effort like you said, credit to bongetti and his coaching staff done very well, knowing bongo though he will not settle with 5th spot. Without being bias Coach of the year for me at this point. First coach in years to bring a team up to prem and compete for finals. I believe you were all praising Roxy coach a couple years back for far less.

Anyway hopefully see each other again in finals. With both at full strength I think it will be a much more competitive game.

Abers Marcon taking over and going with youth after losing some experienced stars has also achieved above expectations if he can get them into a GF.

Bongo definitely done a great job but it’s with max points each week and a decent budget.
