Strathmore decision has been made, let’s see how well they can spin this decision…. Mind you I have been told they have had over 2 months to prepare!

A source close to the incoming/returning coach tells me the incoming coach was confident he had the job well before finals got underway. Shame the club decided to be shady and not tell the active coach their plans.

I hear the club was glad for the premiership but in their elite footy wisdom thought it was no chance to occur when they started prepping the guillotine. Interesting to see what excuses they scrambled for to attempt to justify it when they finally inform the coach. I imagine they were pretty laughable.

Interesting to see how many clubs jump on the opportunity to try and get the premier EDFL premiership coach on board…

They should have waited and spoke to the current Premiership coach. If Deer Park had any brains they would be making him an offer he can’t refuse, then they would be a club to be worried about
Deer Parks coach is fine. A few less injuries and a ruckman and they would have been premiers.

Premiership coach replaced with the previous premiership coach. Very strange timing however hardly going to be any fallout given the word was out there from July onwards and willing to bet no key departures from Strathmore which will suggest players aren’t upset by it.

Great effort by Ash, did a remarkable job to win the flag. Have no doubt Horne will do another stellar job and Ash will go on to coach elsewhere.

Win for all involved!

Wonder if they did some due diligence before hiring and spoke to ESS VFL and Pascoe Vale about why he got the boot from both ? Interesting times
Strathmore coach announcement next to come.
I’m sure they did and plenty at Clifton Park would know him well. I’m optimistic he will go very well, and prove it was Pacco’s culture rather than his coaching. Time will tell

Club official trying to spin in into a win for the club haha. Oh man… it’s embarassing.

Have 0 to do with Strathmore? Just saying word was out very early and nobody is shocked except a few on here. Instead of continuing the Ash love affair on here, take some time out. He will be back coaching I’m sure and do really well.

Based on your posts late August below, it’s pretty obvious you were very close to, or a part of the decision making process. Now trying your best to disingenuously spin things to justify the decision.
Well it is, perhaps even premiership or bust and the way the last few weeks have gone I would suggest highly unlikely. Happy to be proven wrong, great club and hopefully do well.

Big finals series for Strathmore, I dare say it’s grand final or bust for the coach.

Haha I have 0 to do with Strathmore mate, just was common knowledge and the mail was very very good. If was part of the decision certainly wouldn’t be on bigfooty foreshadowing it would i?

Stop the lies. You’ve unprompted mentioned the Strathmore coaching position numerous times now, including ASKING the question here which I responded to after no one has discussed it for a while.

You’re the local footy version of Trump, obvious rubbish and lies and think everyone here is too stupid to realise. Then like Trump… you bring it up and then have a shot at a person responding to the coaching question that YOU ASKED.

Horne has a lot of pressure now with 4-5 important players missing, Keilor sure to be loading up and desperate to hit the top again. Wouldn’t want to fail.

A reality check for clubs that pull things like this….

Local sporting clubs first and foremost should be about people, relationships and treating them with respect. Then the onfield side and a good coach is about development and improvement of the footballers you have. The reason I don’t like this situation for Ash is that he started with a team people said MIGHT MISS FINALS, a month before finals the club plotted to remove him despite being in a pretty solid position and having a LOT of ins and out all season due to injury, he and the players turned the doubters into a premier flag, and that deserves a lot of credit, not the boot. Hardly a love affair, but you on the other hand labelled a guy that hasn’t coached for FOUR YEARS, and coached for a total of four years for one premiership the best coach in the EDFL??… You labelled him a far superior coach not only compared to a coach that just won a premiership with a team expected to be average (in half the time it took Horne to win one), you also effectively labelled him a better coach than guys like McGuane who has a range of premierships in his coaching career across 20+ years. Thats a love affair with Horne.

Clubs too often focus on either winning and money, or those in power doing things to look after themselves or their own mates. Priorities need to be right.

This is an all time meltdown!!! Popped up in August when have NEVER said anything about Strathmore and little about premier division in general?

Heard from a reliable source that Ash was not all that popular at the time and asked some other people and they all said the same thing. The results supported the word that change was coming.

One word of advice I will say, is you clearly have a connection to Ash and really not doing him any favours by throwing the toys out of the cot on a local footy thread as you have done above.

You keep saying you have sources and information etc, well it’s been horribly wrong and ultimately Ash is gone and Horne is in and will leave it with this

If Horne wasn’t in, Ash would still be gone so make of that you will.

Have just come over here from the Bendigo and RDFL thread, Pat to wallan is the reason.

Seen the news re ash. If he’s been axed Post a flag how is he going to go somewhere else that’s anywhere of quality when 1 or 2 things have clearly happened. Players are either completely off him as per this thread seems to believe, and if not then the board would have been (assuming strathmore have a board ). And when the hierarchies and players are off you at clubs like strathmore or keilor here, and like Riddle and co back at home in the RDFL, you’re clearly not the right person despite the results. And they won under the apparent “new” coach didn’t they?

Hope for the best for him but something’s had to have gone amiss from his end internally.

The only thing you have is a clear affinity for Horne. Some may say you’re a bit Horn-e. You went far more in on Horne than anything I said about Ash, I was supportive, you were weirdly positive about a guy that hasn’t coached for years. So yes, you’re involved at the club, or with Horne. You can choose honesty or keep playing pretend. Either way, feel free never to bother me with your BS again.

Involved at the club or affiliated with Horne because I said He is a premiership coach and the best coach in the league (behind Mick of course ) makes sense 👍

Give it a rest bud, The Mail was spot on and as the post said above, is clearly some reasons for it.
