Have a look at the numbers of kids drafted from Calder, jets, even falcons, rebels, power, pios and bushies has dropped off in the last 10 years and the number of chargers, dragons drafted has shot through the roof. If you dont think its an elitist game now, you have your head in the sand. Im not sure dusty gets drafted anymore in today's environment

I agree with your point regarding drafted players from out the other side of town. What do you expect when the AFL is run by former private school boys. They are a woke bunch of f@ckwits. Let’s not forget a lot of the boys who are drafted from “private schools” started in public schools. Once they are scouted private schools offer them scholarships to get them into their program. Cam Rayner prime example of this

Dusty struggled to get on the pios list. It was only after he kicked 5 goals in a quarter against Golden square seniors (who were one of the best sides in the state) that the pios listened to Castlemaine and gave him a game

You have to question the rationale behind them bringing through so many VFL listed players when very few stick around.
High points & you'd assume, good $$$ for essentially an occasional sugar-hit.

That has been the case for a few years now and seems like the same again this year. There have a been more than 12 players move on this year and cleared.

They do it every year for the last 4-5 and it doesn’t work but they continue with that method..

Here is a question. Under 18.5 Premier competition. Why is APW and in particular Deer Park not placed into the main division but put into Premier B division. I thought the league allow them 1 year in a lower division but then you must play in same as your senior side..
I really like the Premier B competition to be purely for those teams with 2 18.5 sides so they play against each other and players at the same skill level..

Deer Park obviously pay well so surely the league looks at that and says hey we allowed you to play in the lower div1 in 2025 but now you go up as per your senior side.

EDFL dont like making tough calls, happy to bend and sway to make life easier. Until they address the root cause of the issue, the whole comp is skewed

Think you could argue this group would also be playing seniors
