Like the look of the game but I don’t think I try it as games that are to hard give me the shits and I lose interest if I just keep dying and the fun seems to be taken out of it.

I did a Google search if you could change difficulty settings and just got this….

“ Elden Ring only has one difficulty setting and is brutally hard “……

Desus And Mero Pass GIF by Bernie Sanders

I bought it and this is how I'm feeling lol

Are you 'ere fae spirit tunin'?
Haha, Went home and realised I actually hadn't unlocked that option yet, that's why I had never noticed her.
Quick google and realised I had to Clear the first main section and suck it up and finally face Margit. Did it after a 10 or so tries. I'm cooked without summons though lol.
Heading through the sections of Stormview Castle and keep getting owned by some jerk who whirlwinds around and has a massive shield in this tight side room. Might have to farm up a bit more i reckon.

Trying to summon people to help me but it always sends me into another persons game..

If someone can explain exactly what I have to do that would be great as I'm doing what google tells me to do but I keep going into another persons game.

you need to use a "furcalling finger remedy" this will then reveal gold coop signs you can use to summon someone to help

Lol don't say that!!! Summons are the only thing progressing me past mini bosses, dungeons etc

On the bright side you can avoid him and run away (which I did do in one attempt) only I had GIGANTIC people throwing spears at me, one hit and one shot me to death :( :P. Almost like the Anor Londo archers in Dark Souls!!

Haha, plan will be "inserts South Park World of Warcraft Montage" until im an OP level.
I have taken down one of those giants with the spears/crossbow down the bottom of the map.

There was an early game mini boss that I couldn't beat (only triggered at night), many attempts in the 20s-40s... Then at Level 60, still couldn't do it, 75 nope...... finally beat him at level 77. I must have got lucky with the attack pattern he did on the successful run..... as I normally got flattened every other attempt. Thought it was weird, actually it can be frustrating where the mini bosses are tougher to beat than the storyline/proper bosses.

Can't upgrade my meteoric ore blade (I know, lame early weapon) past +3 even though I have somber 4 and 5 in my bag.
Anyone know why?

Edit: Found it at the lost table of grace 👌

This is the easiest game in the series.... IF you use spirit ashes. They really trivialise most bosses for any experienced Souls player. I've started a new character and enjoying it a lot more without using summons.

The spirit ashes ARE an easy mode so to speak.

I'm up to Godfrey the first Elden lord - but I'm taking a break for a few days as I've gotten eye strain from playing it too long I assume its due to my tv's brightness settings and Altus Plateau being the way it is (bright as hell - for me at least). Could also be the glowing trees :p. Getting older my eyes are a lot more sensitive to things (eg: infrared mode/detective mode in the Arkham games used to be fine... but my eyes get bloodshot if I have it on for too long. 4K videos can also make my eyes wonky sometimes).

I'm amazed at how down and out you can be but still find a way out of it (eg: the Draconian Tree Sentinel - thought I wouldn't be able to beat it regardless if I leveled up or not.... raised my level twice... the very next time I faced him.... he was done like a dinner!! - don't know what it is, maybe I got lucky with the attacks he attempted on my successful run). I went to the eternal city of Nokron, got a few extras to upgrade my spirit ashes AND also trekked around and got the sword of night and flame - too bad I won't actually be using it unless I decide to upgrade my int and faith 12 times each :p. I'd rather keep leveling up my Vit!!!!

bought it the other day and about 5 hours in. this game is ****ing hard.
Idk where to go and end up trying to beat multiple bosses or side dudes at the same time.

Also, i massively regret my Hero strength based build. so ****ing clunky and the damage is nothing special. gonna have to change it up and move towards intelligence and arcane maybe as i progress

I’m still up in the air on getting it, only because I simply can’t dedicate enough time to this game to get better, improve and defeat bosses, if it came out 10 years ago, then yeah I would’ve had endless hours to pump into this and give it a real go haha.

So whats with the Ashes of War though? I want to equip some to my Uchigatana, but they drop its stats too much, like 5-10 levels worth. Are they worth the trade off?
you can change which way it applies to the weapon, though. For example, I was a strength build, so I could put the AoW on and make it a "Heavy" version. Or, you can do Keen, or Quality; depending on what build you are going for. Many will let you go with a bleed, or poison, or cold variation; which drops your stats compared to Heavy (for me), but you get the benefit of the extra bleed/poison/frost; which can be very helpful depending on the situation

Spirit Ashes, Ashes of War, biggest weapon & magic pool, NPC summons, horseback combat, over abundance of runes for leveling. There's a lot of things that equally make this game the easiest. I'd argue unless you scummed your way with Mimic Tear + 10 before it got patched, there's more broken Ashes of War than Spirit Ashes. Cost for using them wasn't balanced at all.
