My biggest peeve is the little shit lol. Like, change the colours of the caves like sky skyrim if I've cleared them, lol. Game is huge, and I can't keep track of what I've done over 50+ hours. Or if I've finished a quest line, take the site of grace trails off the map. Just something to know I've cleared an area, I keep getting worried I've only have explored a tower/area
I’m playing with a soft guide and tbh I’m not getting every dungeon and it’s not the end of the world. I don’t think the game is built for you to do everything.

Just "100%"ed the game (obviously missed some hidden weapons and stuff but been to every location possible)

What a game, one of the best ever made, despite some reservations about the final fight

Malenia by far the most epic fight, that fight alone makes the game worth it

I beat Morgott and Rykard today. Both were surprisingly easy. Just kinda standing next to Rykard the entire fight stabbing him with the spear was sort of weird. Never really felt in any danger.

Since the start i've been heavily investing in faith, and for the longest time I just had complete trash for weapon choices, so just stayed with dual scythes the entire time. Now i've got some whetstones, finding more cool unique weapons, i've got a bunch I can use. Still using my dual scythes a bit, but currently swapping between dual Flame Art Great Omenkiller Cleavers which are awesome, and i've also been using the Iron Ball fist on one hand, Star Fist on the other. I discovered at the end of my session that I can just two hand the one of them and it gives you one for your other hand, which is nice. So I'll probably go with two Iron Balls. Super fun just bopping everyone with the fists.
Giving the Godslayer Greatsword and Blasphemous Blade a try as well. I've heard how good the BB is, but looks kinda shit, so I don't think i'll use it too much. Godslayer Greatsword on the other hand looks amazing, so it will probably join the rotation.

So just beat Malenia. Took about a dozen attempts.
The first 11 tries I attempted to dodge around with Bloodhound Step and hit her with Dragon Breaths/incantations.
About half of these attempts I got to the 2nd phase.

Then I went online to get some advice.
For a bleed build they said that you have to go with Rivers of Blood.
Fine, I've got this at +10, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Got her first time, not only that, but the fight (including both phases) was over in less than 30 seconds.
Because my arcane (72), faith (43) and dexterity (41) were so high and I had on all the right talismans (Rotten Wing Sword Insignia, Lord of Blood's Exultation, Shard of Alexander and Godfrey Icon) and used Flame, Grant me Strength and the Golden Vow buffs I just shredded through her. It seriously took about 5 uses of Corpse Piler in succession and each phase was completed. I honestly couldn't believe how OP this weapon was for the fight. See below for setup.

The frost stomp cone is entirely too good, even now. Chucked it on a claymore, and have it as an alternative to Lusat's staff with a 100% physical block shield with no ashes of war in my off hand. Means that I just get out the magic bow to pull enemies (at 1000+ damage a click), Cannon of Haima if there's a clump of weak ones, rock sling for staggerable foes, and frost stomp + shield when I want to save magic.

Next playthrough is going to be incantations and the cipher pata. Playthrough after that is unseen assassin. Playthrough after that is strength, or pyromancer, or bleed, or vit tank.

There's just so many build options!

There's just so much to miss lol. Hadn't been back to the round table in a while. Realised there was some extra doors open with more NPC's. One I could buy better armour from. Have no idea about "builds" just constantly exploring and levelling up. Samurai, pumping points into Dex and Vigor. Swapped my Uchi to the Nagatana with Poison (82) and Bleed (33)
Just clocked over the 50 hour mark and beat Radhan around 4 hours ago. Is he the 3rd Main boss? or have I missed some or skipped ahead? Is there an order?

I learned during that second fight you mention that if you kill a boss while dying simultaneously that it doesn't count anymore. It was a very crushing moment, but also my own fault for getting cocky when I thought I had it won and then predictably got humbled.

Against Rennala, I killed her while she summoned her dragon, the dragon never despawned for the next 10 seconds and it kept breathing fire on me, I died, but it gave me the win and I respawned in the library

There's a slight order. Radahn isn't a main boss unless you want a specific ending.

The main bosses need to finish the game are:
Margit, Godrick, Red Wolf of Radagon, Rennala (the last two bosses can be substituted for any shardbearer I'm pretty sure, they're just the quickest and easiest), Godfrey (spirit), Morgott, Fire Giant, Godskin Duo, Maliketh, Sir Gideon Offnir, Godfrey/Hoarah Loux, Radagon, Elden Beast

Oh really??? But he was soooo Hard :coldsweat: lol, so the main ones must be rediculous lol.
Was a pretty cool fight though, being able to respawn your allies, was pretty epic

Yeah it's one of my favourite fights in a while.

Of the main bosses Maliketh, Godfrey and The Elden Beast are probably the toughest on first attempts. The rest are manageable.

Not sure if its a glitch or i've missed something. I've upgraded my Nagakiba to +16, but in my stats it says R Arnament 1 - 101, and when I go to level up my strength or Dex (or anything) it doesn't change. Number stays the same. When i switch to my Uchi its fine (around 300 and something and increasing Dex increases its damage)

All I can think of is you have equipped an Ash of War and removed the scaling.

ffs. was stoked to beat malenia after so much effort only to discover she has a second phase. i accept im terrible at these games but on a no-summons play-thru this fight just seems ridiculous now.

I went no summons, no spirit ashes. It's a pretty brutal fight and took me around 10 - 15 hours of attempts over like a week lol, but..... it can be done. Just persist, I'd def recommend using a weapon that does bleed if you're going melee like I did.

I am trying to conquer the Mountaintops of the Giants as my next (logical) area, had a bit of trouble getting to the starting point (or what I presume is the starting point ?) - made it to the forbidden lands grace site. Now just need to figure out the path ahead, but along the way I've found a path in the royal capital that allows me to get a reasonably quick 20,000 runes per run and grace point respawn. A bit different to the near 1952 runs for the boulder spawn trick at Lenne's Rise.

thanks for the moral support!

yeah i've been rotating between the uchi with bleed or bleed + frost, rivers of blood, cursed blade and godskin peeler (frost). not sure which combo works best for me. but have discovered i can block through most of her fowl of a bullshit thousand cuts which has been my biggest hurdle. so using a shield for the first time.

can't wait to play thru again as a mage and use all the summons/ashes for a completely different (easier?) experience. melee only no summons was a bad idea for this noob!

Is it viable to go through the entire game using the Moonveil?
I'm exploring the mountaintops and it still seems to be holding up well (currently +9).

Any weapon is fairly viable once upgraded and scaled to your build.

Finished this today at level 151. Can't think of a game I've ever so adored yet dreaded. Almost returned it after 100 hours, halfway through Crumbling Farum Azula - what an absolute campaigner of an area. Took me 30 goes to finish the final boss today solo. Only area I missed is wherever Malenia is - don't care, I'm done with it.

I've now done Dark, Demon's 1 & 2 and this. I was all Soulsed out with 3 and Bloodborne I found tedious. But I will be going back to try Sekiro, definitely.

Can definitely say I have zero motivation for the Far Cry or Horizon Zero Dawn open worlds now though - think it has put the final nail in the coffin of those games for me.

Sekiro is so good and honestly quite different

Looking forward to it, but need a bit of the break from this kind of game for a couple of months - 120 hours in 5 weeks is pretty heavy - need something a bit more chill.

Got summoned into a game that was being invaded by someone. The invader got dealt with swiftly as it was 3 v 1, I got to land the killing blow which was fun.

Upgraded the Rivers of Blood to +10, its really cool.

Honestly the worst part of invasions in this game, you never get a fair fight.
