Stupid question then, as apart from ER i cant "get gud" at souls-borne.
Does that mean that essentially farming is pointless because your attack level will scale and then be capped at that certain point/level until you beat the boss.

Or it will scale you up?

I reckon the only reason (Apart from summons lol) I could beat bosses was because i would grind XP to increase stats.

It won't automatically scale you up I would imagine. And as it looks like the entry point is near end game anyway, you'll have done a lot of grinding up to that point anyway.

The point of this mechanic is also to give the DLC a sense of progression rather than a linear difficulty like previous fromsoft DLCs.

Wonder if they'll offer refunds to people who buy the dlc but can't beat Mohg to access it.

It took me 3 hours this week to finally do it on this character and was borderline giving up. Strangely enough he's the only boss that took more than 3 attempts so far on this run

They will say you can always summon another player to help.

Certain bosses depend on your build. Some bosses are better for ranged builds and others for melee. As a mage I beat Mohg in 2 tries. I should have had him first time but I wasn't watching my health. Playing through again but as a melee blood loss build it took probably 10 or so tries to beat him.

Strong username to post correlation.

Did you have Mohg's shackle, or the physic tear that makes you immune to the first two Nihil waves? What's your build?

Patch dropping on the 20th.

  • A new tab called "Recent Items" has been added to review recently obtained items. Active Summoning Pools will remain in New Game+.
  • Individual Summoning Pools can be activated/deactivated
  • in the new Map Functions Menu. Only active Summoning Pools will be selected when using the Small Golden Effigy.
  • Five new hairstyles have been added to the game. They can be selected during character creation, using the Clouded Mirror, or Rennala's Rebirth function.

Recents tab is great. Ho many times I'd be running through somewhere and pick up some obscure named item, only to forget what it was.

Our review of the DLC (spoiler free) for anyone interested

Not so sure about this line: "Admittedly copying liberally from some of Nintendo’s homework in Zelda: Breath of the Wild..."

Bit of a shoehorned analogy and the use of 'copying' is frankly quite offensive to the devs. I get it's somewhat of a throwaway line, but a little too reductive for my taste.

agree with this, it'd be like calling every modern open world collect-a-thon a derivative of the original assassins creed or something

Blackgaol knight kicking my arse already. Lvl 170ish. May need a couple of those new lvl upgrade items
I missed him on my way past the first time, when I went back I dropped him by luring him into founding rain of stars and letting him kill himself. Wasn't particularly difficult.

He's also easy enough to poisebreak. Gavel of haima worked a treat as well.
