Pretty bloody good. I'm 19 years old, the team I support is winning premierships. I've got all the benefits of living at home, with the freedom to come & go as I like. I can have a drink without worrying about the consequences or the example it sets. I'm playing cricket with some of my mates from school. What's it like living in 1982?
So what are we actually going to DO? By 'we' I mean the supporters. Usually we come on here and vent. We talk about dropping players, trading players, promoting youth, going after certain individuals from other clubs. We talk about sacking coaches, recruiting staff, player development.
Yet as individuals we can effect none of those things.
So my question is: what are we as individuals, and perhaps then collectively, going to do?
I'd like this thread to be a serious thread that canvasses options then we move to some sort of consensus about action. Ambitious I know.
Some thought starters:
1. 'March' on the club in protest.
2. Do the same in a sign of support
3. Collectively tear up memberships
4. Organise a rival ticket (Ahmed for instance who once really wanted the presidency)
5. Give up completely
6. Keep whinging on here weekly
7. Vote for an emergency AGM
Other options?
Mods can you please try and help keep to a serious thread?

I have come from the future to give you a warning - enjoy it while you ****ing can.Pretty bloody good. I'm 19 years old, the team I support is winning premierships. The best thing of all about living in 1982 though, is I have my whole life ahead of me.
Personally I find #4 appealing.
If there was some sort of coordination with fans we would have an unbeatable voting block.
it looks bleak at the moment, but throwing the club into the too hard basket is pretty poor from people who claim to love the club. We just need some leadership and goal...
This isn't necessarily about the Pres or CEO. I'm especially impressed with Trigg, but has to be more about the amount of dead wood on the club's board.... And failed people who still pull the strings!
I don't suppose you happened to bring a Sports Almanac with you?I have come from the future to give you a warning - enjoy it while you ******* can.
All really good questions and I think need to be fleshed out more.Okay another one. How's about a bit of specificity with this vent about the board. Who has to go? Who is coming in? Someone from BF? Juddy next year?
What is the goal? To tell Bruce to GAGF?
All really good questions and I think need to be fleshed out more.
Part of it has to be to break up some of the control of Bruce and other factions within the club.
2 - Who to replace? I guess another thing to be fleshed out but it needs to be someone more neutral, someone who can keep them accountable and represent the members/fans.
Currently, there seems to be a huge discontent between our board/club and fans. The members don't feel like they belong, are listened to or represented. Clearly the most effective way of doing so is by either electing people who will do so (or at least bringing more transparency and awareness of our board, candidates, get members engaged. Or at least to keep those on the board on their toes so that they are aware the members are watching intently.
Thankyou for answering without the standard powerbroker blah blah rant. I actually think it is time to begin a discourse with the club about some movement on the board. It's important that we don't let the teams performance turn it into some sort of revolution. We are a going through a period of uncomfortable self-awareness, and pointing the finger of blame isn't going to help. I'd like to see MLG start driving some board change a bit more, I'm not sure what is planned behind the scenes with this, so we need a bit more communication from him. The disconnect isn't going to be fixed whilst the team is rock bottom, all we can do is get some processes in place and try harder.
I agree. I'm certainly just one view and I'm not in favour of overthrowing the complete board or in the business of over rating our list and believing that a change of coach would alleviate our problems.
The club's needs a full list rebuild which will take 5 years. My concern with the board is that it has never really listened to the fans, though Trigg has made the most concerted effort I've seen from the club to rectify this.
In my opinion, the board has never really valued or listened to members, but since we moved away from Princes Park (an inevitable decision) it has become worse. This discussion should be happening whether we are bottom or top of the ladder. Success or lack their of doesn't change the problems our club face.
I don't believe you. We will just keep buying the best players from the SANFL & WAFL, whilst continuing to reap the benefits of our country zone. I can't see our run of success ever coming to an end.No. But just between you and me, get on Carlton in 87 and 95. Cause that's it for a while. A long while. Sorry.
I can only assume that this will be the start of the end of our record breaking run of premierships.Be warned, be warned, Friday 15th, 2002.......the end is nigh.................be warned.....................................wooooooooooo............

Er, yes, something like that. Gotta go, don't suppose you know a fella called Scrooge?I can only assume that this will be the start of the end of our record breaking run of premierships.
