I've gained access to Platinum SCG members tickets for tomorrow's 5th test. I've heard the stories regarding the 4am queuing and the 'Paddington Gift' - the rush for seats when gates open.

Can anyone give me any indication on what time the members usually fills? I've got to drop kids in the morning and won't be able to get to the ground till 8-8.30 at the earliest - am I any chance of getting seats??

Cheers!

As someone who has done the Paddington Gift on more than my fair few share of occasions you would want to get there as soon as possible. I have seen the members filled up two hours before the start of play before, and tomorrow will be as packed as it will ever be.

I used to live about 1/2km from the SCG gates so we used to be able to wander across about 8am, secure a seat, then come home for breakfast and maybe even an hour more sleep. Was brilliant. Not there any more though.

They started doing members seat bookings in the last few years which we have taken advantage of this year.

Good luck man. It can be a ****ing madhouse on the first morning. The only saving grace this year might be that being a dead rubber match a few might stay away, but it would only keep minimal numbers away i reckon.

If it's just you trying to find a seat on your own you'll be able to snare one somewhere.

The new stand is opening tomorrow so I'm anticipating that will throw up more problems than usual.

Thanks for the advice - looks like I need to make some alternate arrangements or I'll miss out :(

Yeah, get there way before the sun comes up. It is bad even when they are playing a team not many want to see, the Ashes is always going to be the biggest crowd.

I wouldn't be surprised if people are starting to line up tonight.
