My first Epic Match was against my mate. Invited him over to create 'Footy' on Good Friday!

We had been playing Freo Vs Essendon (our own teams) for a while and decide to pick a nuetral team and play at a nuetral venue with 15min qtrs and extreme injuries.

Needless to say there were sore thumbs from frustating tackle button mashing in the stoppages to some celebrations around the lounge after goals and at one point i threw down the controller and started clapping after Reiwoldt took a screamer and drilled it home from outside 50. The atmosphere was almost like i was watching a real game on TV:eek:.

My mate had the lead for most of it (Bulldogs) with Barry Hall kicking 8 goals straight, while I had most of the possesion (Saints) but couldn't capitilise...

I had a chance to win the game with the last kick of the game after the siren went with a torp towards goal from inside the centre square by Gilbert, but my full forward went to tap the ball through the goals as i couldn't sheppard/bump the FB out and it cost me the win. :rolleyes:

Cant wait for the patch to fix the bumping rather than spoiling. :mad:

Just had one of the most intense games since i've been playing it.

4th round in the season i was desperate for a win after getting relatively thumped in the early rounds.

The lead changed several times with carlton getting ahead by 5 goals in the third term, but i managed to claw back the lead. The final term was bound to be massive, Heppell was playing on Judd and just destroying him with about 3 minutes left carlton took the lead by 4 points, a ball up in the centre square with 2 minutes left on the clock saw Judd win the ball and kick to carlton's forward ark, hooker took the mark and handpassed to watson on the run, watson blindly kicked forward and Ryder took the mark, played on and kicked straight to gumbleton who marked on the chest and kicked through the winner and i ended up winning by 2 points.

I had an awesome second game online (the rest have been quitters basically)

I was St. Kilda Vs Essendon and it was close all game but I was down by a goal for most of it. 2 minutes left at the center tap and I manage to kick it long to koschitzke and he marks it right before the siren. He booted the goal to win by 4. Was so thrilled.
 
Now I don't care what you people say this was epic to me haha. I have edited all my players stats down by 10, meaning I am getting slaughtered by all the good teams, the match before I got beat by the Bulldogs by 50 points. I am Sydney and was playing against Collingwood, our bogy team, I scored the first goal then they scored the next 4. I kicked the first goal after half time then Collingwood got kicked the next 3 to take a 2 goal lead, I then scored the next 5 goals to go into 3 1/4 time ahead then kicked the next two after the break and just held on. It was a great comeback. if you play with your players stats dropped like that you would have been extatic with this too.

My heart is almost beating out of my chest. I just had the most amazing game that I've ever seen. In fact, it smashes all of the pressure/stress matches in this thread by a country mile.

As Carlton, I played against some guy's custom GWS team and it was an absolute thriller.


Carlton vs. GWS
First: 4.1.25 - 1.1.7
Second: 5.1.31 - 3.3.21
Third: 7.1.43 - 5.5.35
Fourth: 7.2.44 - 6.7.43

The game was a tug of war after half time and for the first time in a while, I struggled to go forward. He smashed my forward tactics and I was stumped.

Roll on the fourth quarter, he kicks a late one to make the margin only 3 points with 4 minutes on the clock. He goes forward from a free kick and gets a mark hard on the boundary line. Has a shot at goal and would you believe it, it hits the post with 3 minutes to go. I play on, run down the pocket boundary and, of all things, I ran too far and couldn't believe it. In a similar position, he milked the clock a little bit before having his shot. I was honestly stunned when it hit the same post again.

45 seconds on the clock and I knew that I had to wind down the clock. I played on, streamed down the pocket boundary and bombed it long to Gibbs and Jamison on the 50m line and Gibbs takes the mark and proceeds to wind down the final 10 seconds of the game.

Words cannot express my jubilation at the moment.
 
Had an awesome match playing as Collingwood against the Western Bulldogs a bit earlier. The score was 20-0 his way at quarter time. I slowly fought my way back in the second quarter, kicking a couple of goals. The score at half time was 20-14, I think. Third quarter was tight. I kicked a couple of goals and he kicked one. Score was 26-20 at three quarter time.

The Bulldogs kicked a goal early on in the final term and it was a tussle up until the half way point. I kicked one to go a goal behind. The game was tight right up until the final minute. I managed to get the ball in my forward line and with two second left Chris Dawes got a free kick about 52 metres out from goal. The siren blew and I kicked it through the middle to tie the match. EPIC match!
 
so it was about 3 am this morning where me and Cats 4 life played a match (hes ranked No 1 on XBL) we never could get a clear lead over each other we had wasted may shots to put us both at 1.2 8 after the first then we both kicked goals after each other he went in 6 points up at 3 quarter time i worked my way back and put my self with a 12 point buffer but with the 5 minute warning coming up he kicked 2 quick goals to tie it up one minute left on the game clock he wins the tap my midfielder picks it up and kicks to Conca just on the 50 and then in a rare mistake by Cats 4 life..He tackled me with 2 seconds on the clock instant 50m penalty conca slots it to win the game. :)

Might i add i was using my custom team Tasmaina Devils needless to say it was an EPIC MATHCH
 
Just had a great game against a bloke known as ajfc 20 . It started off pretty even. Only a few points in it at quarter time. I missed a few shots in the second quarter and he destroyed me for it. Kicking 3.5 to my 1.3 for the quarter to lead by 17 points at the half. He was quite inaccurate in the third quarter once again. Getting out to a lead of 21 points before I cut it back down to 15 just before the break. Then the last quarter. an EPIC. Up until about 7:00 left on the clock. Neither team managed a goal. He took a screamer with Natanui which was before Kennedy drilled home the goal. At this stage I was 4 goals down and didn't fancy my chances. Before bang! I finally started to win the ruck taps/clearances and got goals from Hartlett, Davenport and Whestoff goaled with 2:00 left on the clock to get me the lead. In a pulsating final couple of minutes all played in his half of the ground. I managed to get a clearance and the footy landed in the lap of Robbie Gray. Who sealed the game! Great game of footy.

Just had a great game against Sydney. Down 45-0 in the second quarter, I slowly peg my way back to 4 goals, and it hovers around there for most of the game.

With 3 minutes to go I'm 9 points down. Manage to get a clearing kick to Matty Lloyd 25m out. Kicks the goal and it's 3 points the difference with 49 seconds to go. Tap it to Jobe who bombs it long to Lloyd who marks 45 from goal. Siren goes, and Lloyd kicks truly to win the game.

Just played an epic prelim

I finished second for the season and Hawks finished top, but they lost to the Cats in the first week putting them on my side of the draw

We meet in the prelim, on 3 min qtrs.

0.0 to 1.1 qtr time
1.1 to 2.2 half time
3.1 to 3.3 3 qtr time

then they kick the first goal to get it out to a 8 point margin early in the 4th, i then kick one to peg it back

With 3 mins left, i;m still down by less than a goal, when the ball spilss in the forward line, i soccer it and it rolls through in the wet

Hawks then get the clearance and i manage to tie it up at CHF for them, btu they get a quick knock and kick sideways to Roughy who marks and the siren goes

He lines it up, its straight but i manage to spoil the ball on the line for the closest and most nerve racking game ive played offline!

I got a couple goals back and with 25 seconds to go I was down by 4 points it was 78-82. Black does a slick pass to Banfield and I slotted the goal after the siren to win

13.6-84 (brisbane) to 13.4-82 (geelong)

Just had an amazing game against Pure Prod1gy.

It was even the entire game, not once did it exceed 2 goals and it went both ways with the two goals. There was 3:49 left in the last and I was up by 7, thought I had it in the bag. It then turned upside down as he missed a goal and there was 2:59 left on the clock, I am crap at kick outs and he managed to crum my shit kick and kick a goal. 1:40 left on the clock, I got a direct tap out and got it to Brendan Fevola and I kicked a point. In a last draw he bombed it to his player, forced it towards his goals and I punched it out with 8 seconds left. I won it by a point. Thrilling game!
 
lost to gold coast by a point, 59-60, was behind the whole game then came back at the end, but just couldnt get the ball outta the centre.
 
I played a ridiculously epic match against geelong in the NAB cup just then.
on legend difficulty, 20 min quarters, extreme injuries. About the 4th time i have tried to do this match.

Going into the last quarter im down by 30 points. The cats kick the first 4 goals to put me 54 points down. Its goal for goal for the next 5-7 mins, and im starting to get frustrated.

Then i start my comeback. I get a couple of supergoals with my supergoal go-to guys in Sherman and Griffen. Barry kicks about 4 more goals, ends up on 12 goals. With 1 minute to go, Tom Williams of all people runs it down the ground, evades 2 tackles, kicks it long into the forward line, where Patty Veszpremi marks. I milk the timer as long as i can, then kick the goal.
This puts me 4 points up.

Then the nightmare begins, and Jimmy Bartel rips out my soul.
Centre bounce, Jimmy gets the tap. Evades all my tackles in the middle, gets to about 60, and kicks a supergoal. It wasnt one of those ones that just goes in either. Went right into the stands.
I was so pissed.
End score was 210-205.
 
i know its not a close match... but just played a 20min quarter match between essendon and gold coast on amatuer (i was kinda bored and wanted to see what would happen)... well it was over very early.

My most epic match before the PSN crashed out was a goal from the pocket to win after the siren...

Thought I stuffed it up by kicking a point with 30 seconds to go but the bloke I was playing online stuffed up his kick out... Troy Taylor to the rescue!
 
just played an epic grand final as hawthorn versing western bulldogs.
managed to get an early lead and keep a 3 or 4 goal lead up until 3 qtr time and i was thinking, i just gotta keep playing this brand of football and ill win.

anyway, buldgos applied massive pressure and managed to kick a point infront with under 30 seconds on the clock (5min qtr's). so basically i needed a quick tap and clarence and mark in the 50. did exactlty that, franklin marked just before the siren went, at first i thought it went just before but it went to set shot screen, directly in front, just on 50m, winds going at 20kms/h directly towards me. gave it a great old roost... sails through the big sticks for the winning, just lived every young boys dream of kicking the winning goal of a grand final after the siren... went crazy... even better win considering i lost the the bulldogs 2 times, round 23 by 30 points and the qualifying final by 7 points
 
Alright its not a final its not even a season game in the first round of the Nab cup beat the dees by 4 goals then comes the crows on professional half time comes and im up by 23 looking good then they get a run on with 45 seconds left on the clock (game time, 5 min quarters) Tippet hits the post from an acute angle so Chaplin with the kick out im thinking its gonna be a draw and I kick long to the top of the centre square and there is Big Brogan take the mark plays on handball to pearce runs 10 metres and boom long kick to the 50 Motlop takes the mark 45 metres out slight angle there goes the siren its York Park 2006 all over again, wind blowing into his face relaxed thumbs on the controller and he goes back and slots it port Win go to the second week of the NAB Cup
 
Just played a created GWS (featuring Ryder, Scully, Palmer, Kozzie, Coniglio etc) with West Coast at Auroura at night for some reason, if that's even possible in real life. 10 minute quarters, legendary difficulty.

Got the jump 41-18 in the second quarter, before the Giants packed on 10 consecutive goals to really **** me up. Was down 49-84 at three quarter time, chipped away with a few goals at the start of the term added to a super goal with Ebert, and was down 91-99 inside a minute left to play.

Got a centre clearance, Priddis got tackled, Kerr got tackled, Cox hands it to space and Ebert grabs it loose outside the 50 and bounces through a second super goal with 0:13 left on the clock (6.5 seconds left of real time).

Won 100-99 after being 41 points down late in the third quarter.
