In addition to ruling the goal out, the penalty decision as well was very harsh IMO. Perhaps gone under the radar a bit given the penalty was saved, however I’m sure that decisions is going to be raised too.

Soza targets me yet again. SM laughs.

What a shock.

You said something rather silly, it got called out, I found it funny. Shock.

One thing is clear and Ive wrote this in a fair few forums, its a major step up going from the Bundesliga to the Premier League. Pace, physicality and tactical demands the major reasons. Another thing I feel having watched a fair few Bundesliga games, is there seems to be a lesser intensity to the overall general games, its alot more free-flowing football is the Bundesliga. Im pretty sure the league prides itself more to an end-to-end style of game.

Past few players case in point: Kevin de Bruyne (initially at Chelsea), Timo Werner, Havertz (initially in his spell at Chelsea), Jordan Sancho (initially when he went to Man United), Schweinsteiger, Pulisic, Nkunku, Fullkrug, Naby Keita to name a few. Even Xavi Simons from what Ive seen of him hasn't been that great for Spurs. Id say Ligue 1 imports from France generally speaking transition better than Bundesliga players................Dont watch too much of French footy.

It was a pretty blatant foul. I doubt Liverpool have given it a second thought.

I re-read the rules a couple of times and I still couldn't work out why the goal didn't stand. He was clearly in an offside position but he didn't try to play the ball or interfere with Donnarumma. There was a ref on the commentary (not sure who) who said it was due to him being in the 6 yard box. Was there a directive about the interpretation? The on-field (subjective) decision was offside so maybe VAR didn't feel there was enough to recommend a review. I wonder if Howard Webb will clarify.

Howard Webb has said this is what happened.

The linesman had nfi from his angle and didn’t put his flag up until 13 seconds after the goal was scored.

howard webb has spoken.

pundits and youtubers from across the divide have condemned the disallowed goal and webbs explanation
Webb seemed to be saying the on ground official decide Robertson was interfering yet that would have to happen in real time and I don't think he did. Lino said offside no worries. The VAR wasn't being asked to check the decision was being asked to MAKE the decision in my view and therefore clear and obvious error doesn't come into it.

While I think the goal should have stood the drama about the Liverpool goal has now gone on for five days.

People who were saying it was a disgrace that Bernardo didnt get called offside against Wolves are saying it's a disgrace that Robinson did get called offside against us.

The consequence of the drama is that next time theres a 50/50, or even a 60/40 decision refs will err on the side of no drama.

It's a tactic a few clubs use, and it needs calling out.
