I took a break from watching games last season for my own mental health among other factors, and that wasn't due to Ange. Some recurring factors I have touched on on this board in years gone by. And have come out the other side far more at peace with life and far less affected by sport.Art's head might explode if that happens
I've never been an Ange supporter and I agree sacking him was the right call. But I will forever and a day be baffled as to why so many on this board still pine for Ange. 22 league defeats in a season.
Arteta wins the FA cup next season but loses 22 league games and skirts with relegation, are you keeping him on? are you wanting him to stay?
Ange is the sacking call nobody can really make a definitive call on it being right or wrong. At the same stage last season before the biggest injury crisis seen in PL we were ahead of where we are now. He then shifted focus to getting us in the CL through the EL and succeeded. Could have finished 9th and gone out in the cups earlier but he wanted to deliver last success over an extra 15-20 league points.I've never been an Ange supporter and I agree sacking him was the right call.
I just made a throwaway comment because I know your standpoint on him as well.

Really, really annoyed that we've thrown away the clean sheetJust too Eze for Arsenal
It's the new age of football where even the super teams aren't "that good" compared to what we were used to 15-20 years ago.Yeah, Arsenal might be the best team in the world now. You've got PSG and Bayern and that's it. Barcelona have some star players but you look at their XI and they really have no depth at all.
The teams around the world yes, but I reckon as long as they stay together their will be some conversations to be had about how many of this current XI get into the arsenal 99-05 teamIt's the new age of football where even the super teams aren't "that good" compared to what we were used to 15-20 years ago.
Arsenal will go on and win the league, so this isn't a pot at them, I just think theres been far better arsenal sides win nothing than the side that just belted us. Around the world and especially england the sides 6th-20th are now better than used to be, the hold guys like Olise and Eze that little bit longer than before and sign quality replacements and are as good without them. But the top few aren't as good as the early 2000s super sides imo
Mate there's a huge difference between an fa cup and the Europa league.I took a break from watching games last season for my own mental health among other factors, and that wasn't due to Ange. Was over GF day by the train ride home and by breakfast this morning will be over the result here if it goes the way it looks it is.

No one batted an eye when Ancelotti won Chelsea the league and cup double and the following season was sacked finishing 2nd. Or Di Matteo mere months after winning the UCL. Among other things fan protestations led to Benitez quitting for Napoli just after the UEL success.I've never been an Ange supporter and I agree sacking him was the right call.

The pretty obvious point you're (intentionally) missing is those managers were sacked for poor league form subsequent to their trophy success. Ange wasn't sacked for poor league form until after he won the trophy. If you of all people are trying the "but Chelsea do it" to defend the sacking then you really are totally blind to your own biases. No one batted an eye when Ancelotti won Chelsea the league and cup double and the following season was sacked finishing 2nd. Jose, Conte, Sarri, Tuchel more under Roman's ownership that suffered similar fates.
But because we're a club that wins far less often we should accept the frankly unacceptable league position. Chelsea would be but one example of this ruthless behaviour.
No one can mount a credible case for the manager of any big club in Europe surviving 22 defeats in a season, having suffered 12 from the last 28 games the season prior.
Now I dont know much about the end of year transfer last season but in comms in the game, Spurs were also chasing Eze end of last season.Spurs could really use a player like Eze
No we don't.This Arsenal team, wow. Got the title sewn up already pretty much. Just goes to show evolution, not revolution is the way to go.
No we don't.
It's November.
