A lot of 20/20 hindsight going on. Most people thought they would win the title again with a few people putting them in 2nd place behind Arsenal or City. They've lost 6 of their last 7 games, and now 0-3 at Anfield to a relegation team.

This is Slot's team. They can't spend another £446 million to fix it. He'll have some grace from having won the title but if they are still in the bottom half of the table at the end of the year he could be in trouble.

People are forgetting just how much of an impact Salah had last year for Liverpool's title win.

12 games into last season Liverpool were 10-1-1. Salah had scored in 9 of those games (10 goals in total) and had 6 assists. 20 games in Salah had 19 goals, 13 assists.

Salah having literally one of the greatest individual Premier League seasons of all time was the difference between Liverpool and the rest of the league. A lot of their deficiencies were hidden by his brilliance.

Title race is far from over although I will admit it's nice to know most of our major away trips are already behind us.

If we can get a win at stamford bridge, for me, that will be a line in the sand moment of "Ok, this COULD be something...." without getting carried away.

At this point last season we'd already lost 2 games - Bournemouth (H), Newcastle (A) and drawn 4 - Man City (A), Liverpool (H), Brighton (H), Chelsea (A). While also picking up a ridiculous 3 red cards over those games.

By match week 12 - We'd scored 21 conceded 12 for a GD of +9 and 22 points (Liverpool had 31points and GD +16).

By match week 12 this season: We have scored 24 conceded 6 for a GD of +18 and 29 points. And 0 red cards.

Arsenal look good but people saying it’s done and the title is wrapped up is laughable, there’s 26 games left in the season.

26!!!

We could win 26 games in a row.

Alternatively you could put it down to City and Arsenal having poor seasons. Liverpool got exactly the same goals for and against in 2024-25 as they did in 2023-24. 84 scored, 41 conceded. 84 points was enough to win the title whereas the previous season City got 91 and Arsenal 89.

Don’t know what the commentator is on about ‘it must have been something he’s said’ about Michael Keane. Gueye had clearly already lost his head. Completely unacceptable from Gueye. I do the ref could have calmed things down rather than just going for a straight red. I’m biased though.

That was hilarious

I’m no lip reader, however it looked to me he was indicating that he’s going to swing his arms like this. And if anyone gets struck, it’s their own fault.

Pretty good finish by the country home on his weaker foot.

Dunno about the red card. Players get harder contact from teammates after they've scored a goal.
