I had a feeling that would be Ange's last game if Forest lost again but I thought they might have waited until Monday to sack him.

They don't muck around in the EPL though.
Marinakis has sacked 24 managers of Olympiakos in just 15 years.

And that’s with a bunch of titles as well.

He doesn’t muck around either.

Disappointed not to get the 3 points but a seriously fun game to watch from both sides.
That was an incredible game, was exhausted after watching that. Bournemouth are seriously dangerous but they became ragged after pressing Palace hard in the first half. The first first half goals Palace have conceded this season in the League and our back 3 looked shaky.

Serious when I say JP could have scored 5, don't think he is finishing as well this season from outside the 6m box. Who am I to bemoan after he scored a hat trick, but that 100th minute miss would have capped off a mad game.

A VAR offside goal, a VAR send off not given for denying a goal opportunity, even asking the ref to view it pitchside, first time I think I've seen a ref stick with his original decision. A 50-50, not clear cut.

2-0 down at HT and behind after 96 minutes, got to be happy to get a point.

Terrible first half, was a cobbled together 11 with a few players out of position and we certainly looked like it. Injuries biting atm.

Second half was awesome, changes made a huge difference to our structure and we took our chances. Guiu needs to play more while Palmer is out so Pedro can drop in as a AM.

Lovely to see Acheampong get his first goal, crazy how good he is at such a young age. He and Colwill will be a cracking partnership for years to come.

Speaking of Academy kids, 200 games up for James. Good to see him back to his best.

Estevao just has that spark like Hazard and Zola before him. What a joy.

Crazy to keep a clean sheet.

Slot says we can officially start judging Isak as a Liverpool player now that he has had his "pre-season" to gather necessary fitness.

Putting a couple past the Mancs today would be a decent way to get his season going.
United should probably still be regarded as a warm up game

Sympathy for Ange, none for Forest. Marinakis pressured UEFA to dump Palace from the Europa League for the benefit of Forest. Hope they get relegated.

That is Greek football in general. Olympiakos have had 27 permanent managers (not including caretaker managers) since 2000. They’ve won 20 league titles in that time. If you have a look at the other Greek clubs it would look very similar.

Another excellent defensive performance again from Arsenal, back to back PL matches without conceding a shot on target. First time Arsenal have achieved that since the Invincibles season I read. Only the 3 goals conceded so far this season and Arsenal are quietly accumulating points in fixtures we’ve too often dropped in prior seasons. +9 already in that regard so far. Yes please.

I thought Forest were all over Chelsea to begin with however didn’t have the goal to show for it. And punished for the missed chances from there. Madness again towards the end with another needless red card for Chelsea.

Haaland is a beast, he was already a generational player however has gone to another level this season. His output is ridiculous. Should’ve had another hat trick too, but it won’t be long before he nails his next one.

Sunderland very impressive so far and Xhaka outstanding again. Welbeck too, they continue to deliver at this stage of their excellent careers.

Only a half down but would highly recommend checking out the highlights to Palace v Bournemouth (or mini match if you normally watch neutral highlights). Fantastic intensity and plenty of chances all round.

Thank you for this suggestion. I did watch the mini match where otherwise I would only have a cursory glance at scores/overnight goals etc. This was a brilliant match, one of the best I’ve enjoyed in a long long time.

Both teams are very well coached, 2 excellent managers who I imagine will attract significant interest. Semenyo too is a glorious footballer to watch. He rinsed his fullback time and again like he’s done many times this season already, including at Anfield.

The second half was end to end stuff, like a basketball game. So many more goals could have been scored too, a real throwback of a match. How Mateta didn’t win it at the end, holy shit. Yes the ball in from Nketiah was bouncing, however just some decent contact on it and that’s the winner, and etched into the record books with a 4 goal game. Could see the look on his face at the final whilst, he could have had 5 really. Phenomenal performance.

Against Liverpool they are a 50/50 split in recent years of being a complete walk over, or having one of their strongest games of the season.
Is 50/50 one win in fourteen in the league?

For Ange to get to the Premier League from his background, is an achievement in itself.

The Premier League has always and will in the next 50 years mainly be dominated by Euro and South American managers. Cant think of too many from outside that region to crack it. Jesse Marsch and Ange had alot going against them to even get there in the first place.

I think it will be a long, long time until we see another Australian manager in Englands top flight.

There's been many draws when Liverpool were way above them in the league, then they knocked us out of 2 cups.

7 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses over the last 17 meetings (1.59 points per game). 1 win from the past 5 when Man United were otherwise a shambles.

Do your research properly next time. :)

In terms of managers and players, the geographical distance and isolation is the reason why they get snubbed more than your average Euro nation.

The last two decades has seen very little Aussie players in the Premier League and I can't help but think there may be something potential bias in-play. Australia as a nation has more often punched above their weight and even after making the Rd of 16, 2022 World Cup , I thought there may have been at least a couple of Socceroos that could have moved for higher pastures.
