Pick 45: Ron Evans. Evans was a full forward in the late fifties and early 60's, despite only playing 64 games for us he kicked 210 goals at an average of a touch over 3 goals a game. He then moved out to the WAFL to play for West Perth and kicked 271 goals in 60 games.

Pick 46: Michael Hurley. There were a few in consideration for this pick but here I complete my spine. Hurley is a two time All Australian defender and is a very handy forward if need be so I thought he'd fit the bill for me here. At his peak he had great strength and speed and was actually a good kick off both legs so he's the man for the job here.

162 games
Premiership player 84 & 85
BOG in a State of Origin match
Put his body on the line when it counted in the 84 flag when he was knocked out by Dippa.

Need to get my spine sorted. Following a Dodo and eth-dog list build style.

Over to you Pweter

Anthony Daniher.

A Sydney Swans b&f runner up in 1985, he joined his older brothers at Essendon in 1987, also the year younger brother Chris came to the club.

He had size and weight on all his brothers and was a no frills full back with a raking right boot. He went toe to toe with the all time great full forwards (Dunstall, Lockett, Ablett, Kernahan) and held his own, winning the AA full back in 1991 when all the forwards mentioned were in their prime.

After a 13 year career and being the final player in the competition to have played for South Melbourne, he hung up the boots due to age and some kid called Fletcher overtaking him.

Thanks Shermy. (Back to you now.)

This pair will be the 2 -arry's.

One starting with B. (Barry.)
The other starting with G. (Garry.)

That's Davis and Foulds guys.

I needs me a reliable type with no frills (Foulds) and a leader who'll be my captain. (Davis.)

Scott Cummings

Started his career with 8 goals on debut and finished his debut season with 32 goals from 10 games. An indifferent career due to fitness and confidence led to him being something of a journeyman, however he was a leading goal kicker at all of Essendon, Port Adelaide and West Coast.

It was at West Coast where he got his body right in 1999 to win the Coleman Medal by kicking 95 goals. Another feather in his cap is the Graham Moss Medal as best on ground for WA in the 1997 State of Origin. When it clicked, the guy could play.

Good pick, this one.

His best was as prolific.

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti

Had planned to use this pick on someone else but was afraid that AMT would be gone by my next pick and I must have him in my side. One of my favourite Essendon players of the past 20 years
