Brisbane would match with 40 and take 3 points off 44 there.
Well this isn't the real thing so doesn't really matter haha

Would expect a bid earlier than that anyway

Yeah of course. I'm expecting a bid at 22/23.

Posted to DPS that if Bailey was gone I'd take Ballenden at 23. Think he'll go even sooner than that. I'd love to take the chance as a key forward, same attributes as McCartin, Patton and Boyd just doesn't have the junior form but having that form hasn't really worked out that well for those guys anyway.

Collingwood selects Jackson Ross.

Ross joins the club as a player who c an roam across the half forward line using his agility to present problems for defenders. With Cox and Moore holding down key posts, Ross complements them nicely. While currently on the lean side, a couple of big preseasons should see him good to go. I wouldn’t be expecting too much out of him in 2018, but come 2019 Ross should be ready to run defenders ragged.

Adelaide pick 39: Harrison Petty (KPD)
H: 195 W: 83

Similar to pick 12, it is unlikely that the player selected here will contribute meaningfully in his first year. So a tall to develop seems a good pick and while Oscar Clavarino is still on the board and is perhaps rated slightly higher, the Crows will be gun shy of Victorians when a player of similar (albeit slightly less) quality is around the same mark from SA.

Petty is tipped to go perhaps top 30. Unlike first rounders, a pick 39 in a shallow draft is used on potential and need, in this draft after pick 35 it is basically project players so pick your favourite!

Petty is solid prospect, he was an AA key defender at u18 level this year. Decent size and quite good overhead, almost a prerequisite for key defenders nowadays. Reou ds pretty well as well for a taller guy. Gets the edge over some other prospects here as he is from SA, and lately that might appeal for Adelaide.

Talia is a gun, Hartigan is solid, Keath is a prospect but how confident am I that the latter two are going to be better than Petty? Not much. Wont happen next year but Petty will lock into the best 22 in 2-3 year time.

40. Ryley Stoddart

Eastern Ranges/Victoria Metro
185 cm/74 kg
Outside Midfielder

This pick would be used to match a bid on Ballenden but we're not doing that in this draft, so Ryley is the player that I've chosen. Stoddart is a player who's main strengths lie in his ability to run and carry the ball with some pretty good skills, and currently have him in the late 20's on my board so jumping on him whilst he's still around.

That's a long amount of time.
Im feeling generous haha

We have gone at a good rate so far almost getting halfway before the end of the week so im ok with giving him that long

Gold Coast Suns, Pick #41

Oscar Clavarino
Dandenong / Victoria Country
196 cm/ 85 kg
Key Position Defender

I feel Clavarino provides good value at this point as a third tall rebounding defender. Key defenders are an area the Suns lack depth and Clavarino provides a young developing KPD with some really nice attributes. Terrific intercept marking ability and a generally safe user. I see him eventually allowing Jack Scrimshaw and Kade Kolodjashnij to be developed further up the field
