Nope. The need for a key defender is greater so I'll be taking Harrison Macreadie. I have him as a top 10 prospect despite his Champs so to have him at 19 is great.

foj1 is up
They really need some more outside class or speed hopefully you can get someone later that fits the description. Macreadie is an interesting one with guys like Brennan Cox and Jordan Ridley also in that mould. Do they need a big stopper or a rebounding key defender

That can be attained later in the draft. This one bats deep for outside mids.

Might have been a good chance of a Garthwaite, Maibaum or McCarthy later aswell but Macreadie already living in the area is a good chance to stay so won't be any go home factor.

Agree with you, It is a midfield draft after all
Personally think the draft is good for depth in the key defenders and inside midfielders but feel the quality drops a lot for outside mids after the 2nd round. Also shit loads of half backs that could become midfielders

As I said, I rate Macreadie as a top 10 prospect.

I've gone with what I believe to be best available at every pick, which has left me loading up on some similar style players in Berry, Witherden and Rotham.

Despite wanting an outside mid I didn't want to reach for one, I'm actually really happy with that as Brisbane's back line is probably the worst in the league with Andrews and McStay the only players I can see there in another 100 games.
These players all use the ball sublimely, have great mobility and A grade potential, allowing them to develop simultaneously would probably see Brisbane's backline turn into one of the best within 3-4 years. Berry and Witherden can also play up the ground forward or mid if a Mayes or Paparone can salvage something from their careers. Also the character and leadership of Witherden and Berry came into consideration with Brisbane's seniors players being bereft in that regard.

Another thing I like is all those players have both an attacking and defensive mindset. They can all fit into a structure and offer some meaningful offense which the lions have struggled with out of their backline, if Rich is well held they have nobody to give meaningful rebound and all 3 of those guys can do that.

Don't rate cutler

Don't rate cutler
He's got promise and certainly had some great games but I'm not sold on him yet, something a bit chaotic about him. Think he'd work well in the Max Rooke role up forward.

Honestly I rate Brisbane's defence. Biggest problem is its lack of experience.

Andrews, McStay, Cutler, Gardiner, Berry and Rotham make a good back 6

They have good defenders but not many that can attack effectively it's always slow out of defence and honestly McGrath would have been the perfect player for them if he was available at 3

McStay, Cutler are both good on the rebound IMO.

They are but they keep switching them around I'm not sure why they bothered with Cutler up forward this year. They could still use more run from the backline I think.

Might have something to do with the shit coach they have.

I like Mcstay's ability to win the ball in the air and then hit a quick lateral target but I don't think his long kicking is impressive. It's just they have so many poor users back there that the lateral kick doesn't achieve anything and that slow ball movement forces their mids to push up and then they don't have space to start attacking chains. Fix that kicking and it will go a long way to solving their forward problems.

Sorry, seeing as I am playing the roll of Ameet Bains, I was waiting until the last moment then caving to a deal that I said I would never do so on.

Saints take Sam-Powell Pepper at 24.

Absolute wrecking ball, loves the tough stuff, commits his body to the contest every single time.
Suits the Saints needs of inside midfielders, and some serious toughness.
Won the kicking test, but it doesn't appear to translate to games.
