G'day guys,

This idea is 100% SirJimi05's. I'm merely explaining it for him.

The idea is that we have a draft similar to the one which has just been completed, but with the end aim being a season of SuperCoach.

So we are looking for 10 people to pick a squad of 33 players (10 backs, 9 mids, 4 rucks and 10 forwards) according to the SuperCoach positions. The player's best 22 (7 backs, 6 mids, 2 rucks and 7 forwards) will then score SuperCoach points each week, like a normal SC team.

Basically this game is identical to SuperCoach except for the trading and the player selection components.

Instead of a salary cap we'll obviously have a draft, which means that players can only be selected once in the league. Trades will be unlimited, and can be between 2 players, or between a player and the pool of unselected players. Trades with the pool of unselected players will be on a first come, first served basis.

The leagues will run slightly differently to normal SC as well. With only 10 people in the league, there's a chance to play everyone twice (18 matches). There's also 5 rounds in which SC league matches do not take place, because there are 3 teams with a bye. So that leaves one week for finals. I'd suggest we have a head-to-head league from Rds 1-23, and a Grand Final in Rd 24 between places 1 and 2 on the ladder.

People interested in playing just need to be certain that they won't lose interest and will be able to dedicate the little time it takes to play. Places are at a premium and there will be plenty of unluck punters who miss out. It won't be fair on those people if they miss out on a spot only for someone to put in a half arsed effort.

Also, there is a free BigFooty membership up for grabs for the GF winner and overall points winner. Just one if the same player wins both.

Have you considered using the actual values of the players and a salary cap? Would make things more interesting using cash to help get trades through and the rise and fall in value of players imo.

That detracts from the point of a draft. The idea of this is to offer something a bit different to normal.

I wish SC and DT had proper drafts like this instead of the current way of doing it. Really rewards the people who put in some effort pre-season. Draft day on Yahoo Fantasy is always fun too.

One more rule - if you want to drop a player (through injury or whatever) you get a pick at the end of the round. So let's say Goddard does his knee at training today. bno1 can say that she's dropping Goddard, and she instantly gets pick 11.
