Neither, they'd have rid themsleves of the likes of Micky Symons, Glen Kilpatrick, Brad Plain, Alan Ezard or Tony Daniher or Manton (who were all on the list in '93) before they delisted Hird Rooboy. Nice try, no cigar.

Well Dave we will never know will we Dave... as they cheated instead... Rooboy 96 lights his Cigar and takes a sip of his JW blue label...

That just says it all about your club and its attitude mate ...

and you wonder why the rest of absolutely refuse to pay Essendon any respect at all.

Have a nice day - cheat

and most of them think this way BSA... just ask Sandie...

.. and the thing is Rooboy - they don't even think they are doing anything wrong.

Gormless, Stupid, Arrogant, Cynical are words that spring to mind.

"if there is no rule against it why shouldn't we do it ?"

seems to be their line of reasoning here

They just don't get it do they ?

cheers

what is the problem
we cheated the cap (as did most clubs), there is no denying that, we also tried to cover it up....but we were found out and we were punished

we were fined massive amounts of money, and we lost draft picks, something that is going to hurt us for years and years to come

melbourne cheated the cap, and tried to hide it, yet there name goes un mentioned when people talk of cheats, carlton cheated the cap, a number of times and won a premiership in that time yet there name goes unmentioned

essendon is doing nothing wrong here, the story came from nixon, essendon has not acted on it as far as im aware of, so what is the problem?

Tony Lockett smacked the living crap out of caven, by doing so he cheated, but he also was punished for it, whats the difference
James Hird pushed a player in the face, by doing so he was cheating and he was punished by a free kick being payed against him
essendon went over the cap, they were found out, they cheated, but they were also punished, more than any other club has been

BSA

Jealous, pathetic, envious, sooky, they are words that spring to mind when I read some of the crap that opposition supporters post.

There has to be some reason for the dominance of Essendon. Salary cap breaches, Lloyd/ Hird get too many soft free kicks, we don't play enough games interstate, the AFL gives us blockbuster games, the umpires hand us goals etc. etc. etc.

As did a number if other clubs. oh, but that's right, it's ok as long as you took the moratorium. The fact that Essendon came forward (as outlined on the AFL's website) also means nothing does it? Of course, we don't hear much about the breaches of other clubs that have been made public, but then that's because they haven't been sucessful. Nothing like a little tall poppy syndrome old son. We did the crime, we've done the time {happy now rooboy?;)}, all of this is nothing more than bleating borne of envy.

BSA, you trolling agian? (Serious question!)

and I love how they always use the two wrongs make a right theory...

I have always said White should have been forced back to Freo... and Melbourne Fined a lot more and Disqualified from a few more drafts...

Actually Walshy, the club came forward when they discovered the breach, not that you'll hear anyone giving them credit for that.

It's a topic that others needle us on because they know we weren't happy with what happened and there isn't much else they can needle us about at the moment (Port fans aside!).

and you also profitted from the cheating... the punishment was no where near enough... it should have been more like 10 million bucks and five years of no draft picks in the first 4 rounds and no pre-season selections... I think that is almost worth a flag... ask a Sydney... Bulldogs.. St Kilda... Geelong or Melbourne fan what a flag is worth... they will all tell you... you got it cheap... and that is why little respect is paid to Essendon's Success because everyone is always thinking... CHEATERS...

I love how Bomberfans think these players (oh and Benny Doolan) are the only players responsible for the TPP at Essendon during their "First Cheating Era"...

TPP means Total Player Payment... so back in 93 what would you do if you were Essendon and had to reduce some money in the TPP... would you sack one of your high priced recruits or delist a late draft pick player... ie James Hird???

When we first breached it in 1993 it wasn't over that much. Compared to when we drafted Benny Doolan.

D'oh. You know what I meant. Bloody machine blue screened on me & I was typing too quickly!

Rooboy takes another sip fo his JW blue label....

Dunno why, you were shown to be full of **** regarding whether we'd have delisted Hird, but than that you choose to celebrate mediocrity isn't any surprise.

so if you had of delisted a young player... ie Hardwick... we would not be calling you cheaters... is that what you are saying???

From memory, when sydney handed carlton greg williams, didnt the afl discover sydney had "irregularities" with the way williams was paid?

Don't take my word, have a look at the AFL's website, not that I'd expect you to take their word either.

Cry me a river. Go take it up with the AFL, it was their decision not mine. Whilst we're at it, why should the other clubs that cheated not be similarly punished? Including those that took advantage of the moratorium?

Blow it out yer arse! How long will it be before any success the club has wont be alleged to be tainted Rooboy? 10 years? 20? 100?

And personally I couldn't give a fats rats clacker whether you respect my clubs success or not ;) Anyway, have fun with this, I'm off to lunch.

I don't think picking out some other names in hindsight proves anything... could you imagine if Sydney was now allowed to rewrite history and knock back the Kangaroos offer for Longmire and Carey... it is so easy to see now... we will always wonder who would have got delisted... if the Bombers had decided to play by the rules... and not cheat...

No what I'm saying is that Doolan cuased us alot of problems ragarding how much he was paid. Too much. In 1993 we werent over the cap that much, compared to when we drafted doolan.
