Do they need to completley rebuild? Or just need some more time to figure out this game plan...or come up with a new one? (it is nearly round 10).

Watching the last few weeks (missus is a bombers fan) i gotta say im leaning towards the former...they really dont seem to have any coherency whatsover, just trying to win the ball, hack it out and hoping for the best, doesn't seem to be much system there at all.

Is the situation knights' fault or has he just inherited a shocking list of players (they really don't have any guns to speak of apart from mcveigh, the rest are either ageing or borderline star/good honest player)?

Is sad to see, I'd love Essendon to be up there, they draw big crowds and are usually pretty exciting to watch...I'm just trying to figure out where it all went wrong!

Most of their key position players are close to retirement. I think they need a complete rebuild.

Will be down the bottom for a while i would think.

I wouldnt call it a shocking list of players.

Still alot of culling to do with players drafted between before '04 though ie. Lovett-Murray, Dyson, Laycock, Johns, Lee, J Johnson, Peveril etc and possible trades with Welsh? Lovett? Mcphee?

We've got some good kids we've drafted the last couple of years and will get some good early picks this year aswell and most likely next year.

Im pretty positive about our long term future, alot of faith in guys like Houli, Ryder, Riemers, Hislop, Lonergan, Davey, Jetta, Gumbleton, Dempsey, Myers, Pears, Neagle, Daniher etc.

I will give you a neutral opinion on these guys.

Ryder- Has every attribute to be an elite footballer
Houli- Very Limited
Riemers- Jury Out
Hislop- Jury out
Lonergan- Jury Out
Jetta- Cannot play, very very ordinary
Neagle- Looks the goods, hits it hard in the contest and good be a key position player for a long time. May even make a very good CHF
Myers- Had a peek, didnt like that
Others- Jury out

Tonight had nothing to do with the coach, the game plan or the actual playing ability of the players.

Tonight was mainly the lack of heart in the first half. I counted 3 4 quarter players tonight - Hille (star ruckman of the competition now based on that effort), Lloyd (lead from the front) and Reimers (it's not always about the stats - he was the one continually putting his arse on the line - orange boots and all).

Yes and we are still faithful to our team. Look at your deserters running, left, right and centre. The stands were almost void of Bombers fans.

SOTY - you must have very good eyesight to see that all the way from your living room???? Collingwood do not own the rights to club loyalty

"Star ruckman" dont put in atrocious efforts like that in the first half.

Well done to him for lifting in that 2nd half but he isnt a star ruckmans a---hole.

Please tell me that you are joking or trolling or something.

I was their mate and Essendon had plenty of support.

Usually you are a very intellegent poster, but i cant agree with that at all. Looks very very promising, even if he does appear to be an outside player.

Jetta worries me. Very skillfull, hard at it, fast. But just can't seem to convert the skills to senor level football..

Neagle i am consistently impressed with. Early days but i think will be very very good.. Our teams future success depends heavily on him occupying on of the forward KP places.

They should tank this or next year for some draft picks. They need young KPPs fast. Because once Fletcher, Lucas, Lloyd are gone they're in trouble.

Courtney Johns - Career is over
Ryder - Potential
Laycock - Lazy, will never amount to anything
Hill - Gun
Neagle - Hard to tell from one game

Their mids aren't too bad, decent potential. They'll be back in 3 years.

Thanks for offering your opinion. The above is simply my opinion based on what I have seen. Time will tell if I am right or wrong. I do agree that Neagle looks very very good.

They seem to be going the complete rebuild. Knights got rid of plenty of experienced players last year, and already this year Johnson, Peverill and Mal seem to be on the outer.

We've just started a complete rebuild IMO. Or if we haven't we damn well need too. We have some good youngsters but need more. Our current middle group is absolute rubbish.

My god we were shit tonight.

Yep and its gonna get even better these next two weeks. Adelaide at AAMI on the rebound and Hawthorn at the G...enough said.:(
