I'm going to miss David Moyes.

I will always be thankful to him for getting us from relegation candidates to European contenders, qualifying for the Champions League in 2005 and making the Cup Final in 2009. Such a shame we couldn't get that elusive trophy during his reign.

We were irresistible at times, keep the squad together as much as we can while adding to it and we will be fine. One more match to go and then a defining pre season

COYB!!

This morning just re-confirmed how much I bloody love this club.
The way we played after a tough week was immense. The way our fans handled themselves, the way we sent off David Moyes.

It's a shame to lose him, I have been a big supporter if Moyes. He ,ost me after Wigan but dragged me back. I'm still shattered he is going and to be honest the guard and send off to Neville, Moyes and Cahill had me bloody glassy eyed.

Last night showed we can be a top club, we deserve to play play in Europe. We couldn't have put forward a better advert to a new manager and investors than with that performance.

Bring on 2013/14. Coyb.

If we can hold onto the current squad and invest even 10-15 mill on players I think we will be in ok shape.

I honestly expect Baines to follow Moyes to Utd, unsure on any others, possibly Fellaini.

The best thing about last night though is that neither of these 2 were their dominant selves yet we still played magnificently.

Baines will be extremely hard to retain, although he clearly does love the club. In that first half, Osman was putting Messi to shame, he was incredible.

Mirallas creates movement in my pants oh so often and Coleman is just a jet, I wonder how long Distin can go on for? He is still so quick and reliable.

Big Vic was dangerous and very unlucky not to score, should have buried that chance when he smashed it into Juri's knob. If we can grab a clinical finisher we'll be laughing, another CM option to challenge Osman is imperative... Please stand up Ross Barkley.

Optimistic about next season, just have to wait and see who we get to come in.

Due to Distin's age I may be in the minority who still wants Heitinga retained. If he does go it will not be all doom and gloom as I think Duffy can make the step up.

Big Vic is strong and powerful and a handful at times....... But he is not a goalscorer. We need that natural scorer... Negredo! Hopefully we see Jelavic get back to form and a new manager might give more opportunities to Vellios.

One player who I think will have a big year next year if given an opportunity is Oviedo. Everytime I have seen him I have been impressed.

I still hold out hope that Baines will stay. Fellaini is long gone.

A striker is imperative, because Anichebe and Jelavic are both awful. Osman has been inconsistent this season. His best has been brilliant but his worst has been frightfully bad. Gibson is a rock.

Our back four has been settled for a couple of months now, but we probably need a CB to come in for the aging Distin. A new gaffer will hopefully give Shane Duffy a crack. Coleman is a star now, and Jags is one of the best in the league.

Pienaar is a bit past it now unfortunately, but still serviceable. I'd like us to pick up a dual sided winger so Mirallas can play more centrally. Kevin is a superstar, I love him so much.

The basis of a fantastic team is there, so if we get the right manager, make the right signings and allow Barkley and Duffy to come on, then there's no reason we can't progress.

I really hope Duffy gets a lot more game time next season and can be groomed to take over Distin, he's a great size and has shown some really positive signs in the limited game time he's got.

Haven't seen much of Duffy, apart from knowing he's hard to beat in the air because he's ten foot six, has he got the pace to cope? Distin is 35 and faster than most strikers in the league, Jags doesn't have the pace so his partner has to

And one thing I didn't mention but was going to about last night, how good was the atmosphere?? Need that more often at Goodison, teams will hate playing there more than they do now. My favorite part was when Hibbo came on and touched the ball twice...

SSHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!

Distin is much more agile and quicker but in reality few centre backs are as quick and agile as Distin. It's hard to comment because I've seen him play no more than a dozen times but he appears your typical no-nonsense centerback. Regardless if Duffy is the answer or not we need a new center half, unfortunately Heitinga doesn't cut it anymore.

That atmosphere was unbelievable last night, made me so proud to be a blue.

Agreed, watched the Man U Fergie send off game and we put their 75,000 crowd to shame.

I dunno how many of you spend any time on GrandOldTeam, but it went bezerk over the last couple of days because all these reports of Alan Stubbs taking over came flying in. Most of the place had pretty much resigned themselves to suicide when DAVIDMOYES (the poster who broke the Cahill to NY, Mirallas and Odjidja-Ofoe stories) came in and told everyone that Stubbs isn't the new manager, and the we should all chill.

Thank the lord. Now onto the other half dozen godawful candidates.

Poyet the latest one that seems to be gathering a bit of steam.

It's defintly not Stubbs then DAVIDMOYES is always on the money.

I honestly wouldn't mind Poyet has done some really good things at Brighton, their fans rate him very highly. He is contracted untill 2016 though so you'd think we would need to pay quite a bit of compensation for him.

I'm pretty sure that's coming purely from the fact that his club suspended him, even though the justification for that has been because he demanded transfer money that the club doesn't have. Not sure if that one has legs.

Still reckon Martinez is just about a lock. Although I'll hold out hope for Pereira til the death.

Been there once, does that mean I'm not a true blue?

You're pretty much a kopite mate ;)

May I ask why?

He's used to adapting when losing his best players, he plays beautiful football that I think would suit us down to the ground, he has experience in winning trophies, and he is out of contract and wouldn't cost us anything in compensation. By far the best option of the names being floated about.

Yes he's lost Falcao and Hulk but he had that much talent at his disposal they were still a very good side. The Portuguese league really isn't that great it's basically Benfica V Porto. Even with out Falcao and Hulk Porto still have the best squad in the league so it's not like he's turned them into this really good team or anything like that. To me that makes him very unproven, any decent manager can win things at a team with the best squad in a poor league. Everton don't have the best squad in the league, he wouldn't be in a league with only two good teams. The Premier League is nothing like the Portuguese league and Everton are nothing like Porto so i don't think he's very well suited for Everton.

You hear so many Evertonian's saying they want him but i think everyone says they want him because he's Portuguese and manages the same side Mouriniho and AVB came from so people instantly stereotype him to be an amazing manager despite not even knowing a thing about him two weeks ago.

Porto didn't offer him a new contract, their fans don't like him and their fans even booed him when he was lifting the cup last season. He mustn't be very liked if he was getting booed even when he was winning titles for them. If he was that good of a manager he would have got offered a new contract, you would think the fans would like him and he defiantly wouldn't be getting booed.
