Expansion, new teams into div 4 or a 5th division

I know as a South Belgrave Player/supporter it has been easier to get new players into the club now that they dont have to travel 100 km to play.

Will be interesting to see how Silvan go in div 4, especially if their playing list stays similar to this year. Will be good to get some kind of comparison between the two comps.

Heidelberg : Wont come across they were rejected by football vic 3 years ago and rejected by the efl clubs 2 years ago.

Kew : won 1 game against all year against the worst side 6th grade football this yr, i know the ammos is a strong comp but would really struggle coming from 6th/7th grade and having no money.

Bulleen-Temp : Would never happen, strong ammo club who def dont want to move.

Aquinas would be a good move to EFL, struggling just got relagated to D2 this season and would be way better to travel to EFL Div 4 clubs, no more trips to werribee, sunbury, peninsula and all those city clubs.

main question is (same about every ammo club) do the have the coin to go from paying $0 to match payments for 22 blokes a week?

ammo's fees are alot cheaper (because there are 73 club across 26 grades) and at the end of the day probibly the best run (not far infront of the efl)

i think you will find that the park orchards footy club will be in div 4 in 2011 not silvan as many believe.heard they are starting a senior club and could join efl.

Yes Park Orchards are starting a senior club with U/18 only in 2011 & seniors/Reserves/colts in 2012. & Silvan are in div.4 in 2011.
So 12 clubs in div.4 in 2011 (Silvan added)
& 13 in 2012 (Park Orchards added)

PARK ORCHARDS FC
Park Orchards FC are looking to establish an under 18 team for 2011, with the aim to estabblish a senior and reserves side for 2012. In accepting Park Orchards to the leauge, the board would approve the existing red, black and white uniform of the Park Orchards FC but insist that in matches played against Nth Ringwood FC, Sth Belgrave FC and Blackburn FC they wear an alternate jumper to avoid any potential clash. In 2011, the club intents to play at Domeney Reserve on the alternating basis with Yarra Valley Old Boys who participate in the VAFA. Park Prchards JFC is currently a tenant at Domeney Reserve. Park Orchards are of the understanding that Yarra Valley Old Boys FC is likely to use facilities at their nearby school in 2012. Park Orchards FC has additional access to Stintons Reserve that could be utilized should this not occur.

Any more rumours of clubs thinking of heading to the EFL?

There's a rumor on the yv forum that coldstream is a target for that comp. May well be a good fit. Silvan/killy aside, there's not many clubs that close to coldy in 4th divvy compared to proximity of mt Evelyn woori warby yarra healesville etc

To bad if they landed in Div 2.

How about Waverley in the SFL or Hawthorn in VAFA?

Why's that?

they would have to go from paying zero a game to 2k just to get on the park & at least 5k to be competitive, they would never clear that just in beer sales per home game let alone for away games. There are no fences around the ground so they would find it very hard to charge ppl to get in.

The also wouldnt be saving much time in terms of travel the biggest road trip is either point cook or mt lilydale both about 30 min & then they would gain kilsyth & south belgrave but then even longer trips to silvan & coldstream.

Understand.

What about North Croydon coming back or getting a club?
Croydon Hills - Wonga Park are is under utilised and what about St Simons and Lysterfield having seniors?
