Thanks for posting those dm. As much as he may be the unpopular pick, given the spots we need to fill in our lineup, I really like Daniel Rich, and wouldn't be disappointed if we were to take him.

Cheers.

Based on the footage, it would be safe to say that any other year, Rich would definitely go number 1. Watts footage is good - looks very likely, however Nicnat's footage shows me Jeff White in the ruck and Kepler Bradley on the ground. Just on that footage, he appears lost when decision making.

Bring on the Draft Camp. I would book Daniel Rich to be the Rising Star next year - will make an immediate impact on any team.

i don't think most people will be disappointed with any of the 3 (apart from those tearing up memberships)

It's only 1 video, but Rich seems to blaze away a bit when he's in traffic, i've seen another video where he did the same a bit, but then some of his other kicks are 55m and hitting a bloke on the chest.

Agree that Naitanui can look lost, then later he managed to lead Hurley under the ball. Hurley he is renowned for how well he reads the play, so it was a fair effort to do it. Also how many free kicks do you think he gave away?

That wasn't Watts' best game, but geez he's impressive. His evasive skills are top notch, it'll be interesting to see where he comes in the agility test at draft camp. Nice strong grabs and good leads. Anyone who has questioned his desire and attack on the footy should watch that video

I was really impressed with Watts there. He looks like such a natural footballer. Imagine him with a few year's worth of muscle on him....I think he has what it takes to be a true gun AFL forward.

Nick Nat - impressive at ball-ups and really gives his midfielders silver service with his hit outs. But his disposal and even the way he bounces the footy makes me think he might not be right for us. He is a risk for sure. It might pay off, but he might struggle a bit at AFL level.

Rich, I agree, looks like a jet and will make a huge impact ala Rhys Palmer but simply because we need ruckmen and key forwards, it'll come down to the other two and from those videos I would choose Watts.

Anyone who can claim that Watts is the standout from these three videos, must be joking. Rich is an absolute tough nut, and Naitanui does some pretty spectacluar things.. Watts video (about a quarter of the length of the other two, including milking the clock during shots) shows one dominatant play, and even that (his second goal) was a bit of luck.
I was at the carnival at the dome, and his other games were much better, but saying that he is the stand out in THIS VIDEO?

You're only kidding youself.

You're kidding yourself. Who has said he was a standout? Everyone has said that Rich looked good, Naitanui did some impressive things as well.

Obviously you just have an issue with Watts and you've read anything positive about him as if someone was standing on the roof top shouting "JACK'S THE BEST! JACK'S THE BEST!!" and you charge at it like a Bull. Marns said "I really like Rich", another said he'd go No.1 in any other year and another said he'd win the rising star next year. I even wrote "That wasn't Watts' best game".

Contrary to what you stated, no one actually said he was a standout at all, let alone just based on those videos. One person said he'd take Watts based on the video, not that he was a standout. I'd agree with him

The second goal was really lucky:rolleyes:, the guy whacked him around the ears and then he casually snapped from straight in front. While it wasn't Watts best game there was more then "one dominate play", what about the strong contested mark or the play on the wing were he evaded, gave it to a player in space who lost it then he won the free kick and delivered it perfectly.

Yes his video was shorter, you'd expect a forward to get less touches. Half of Naita's was just ruck contest, that stretched his out for ages.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you should lambast anyone who may not completely agree with you.

How impressive is Rich? Got to be the safest bet of the three for sure. How many times did he deliver lace out passes to his teammates. Quality, quality midfielder. Do it Prendergast, you know you want to...:D

I think on those videos, either of the three would be fine with me.

Low Risk - Rich, pretty solid all round there. Good skills in traffic and whilst someone mentioned he did blaze away a bit, he also showed some very quick hands out of the congestion as well. His skills would be great for our poorly skilled midfield.

High Risk - Natanui, he's an interesting one, it's easy to get carried away with his athleticism, but i'm thinking his football talent is something that will develop well. His kicking is quite ok, and will improve. His ball bounce is shocking, but it's almost like it's an afterthought, as he's constantly looking for an option when running with it.

Mid to low risk - Watts, as said, probably wasn't his best game, but looked pretty poised and has nice skills. Very solid hands, and very nice athletically.

Good luck Barry.

agree with all you above sentiments and comments stinga:thumbsu:

people have to remember rich has been playing seniors in the wafl and the under 18's is just too easy to him.
He doesnt have the break away speed you all may think, he's infact much slower than he looks.
Sensational disposal, luke hodge esc.... Personally i think he would be the one who would do a judd on us and leave when he hits 23, so i think he is the highest risk to take. No doubt he will win the nab rising star. Closely followed by our very own..........Jack Grimes.

I still say watts, we have absolutley nothing up there to kick too. And we all know he has the potential and obvious ability that could turn him into a riewoldt type and even a better kick, we would be mad to take anyone else who is an interstater.

Based on what I saw in the videos...Rich is my pick of the 3, Watts second and Naits ,third. ( Mind you they are all good ). But anyone that can kick 60m to position has some talent. Rich looks strong , and looks like he may have some pace. Will only get better.

From the video Rich looks AFL ready, the other 2 will need some time.

Rich looked really good but he was getting a lot of good taps from NN.

NN has no problem physically but needs to keep working on skills & general footy smarts.

Watts looks way too small & needs some time im the gym, I was not that impressed by his video.

If you had to go by the video it would be Rich followed by NN.

Probably not, but if you get a good look at him his shoulders are tiny in comparison to his body.
In a few years he will be an absolute monster.

rich for me.
neither geelong or hawthorn have dominant ruckmen but both have awesome midfields.
and neither have classic CHFs.
buddy is so good because of his agility and pace. whilst mooney doesnt dominate.

I've seen Watts 3 times live, NN twice and Rich twice.

I'd take Watts as he's pure class, great skills, fast, evasive, and at 194cms still growing. Six months ago he was 16.

Watts = James Hird in Riewoldts body.
I'd prefer Riewoldt in Riewoldt's body to be honest.

Hird was no KPP.
