F1 F1 2026 Season

The thing is, the DTS era of F1 fans dont care for the racing, its all about the drama etc

Crowds were building even throughout Max's domination, its all about how you market it.
Eras of dominance do make it easier on the memory.

Much easier to recall Vettel 2010-13 than say, Webber 2010, Vettel 2011, Alonso 2012, Vettel 2013.

I'd much prefer the latter, come to think of it.

haha yeah, something Ferrari tried to warn the FIA and other teams about and they were ignored, and for once seems like Ferrari have gone down the right path with their smaller turbo.

I just hope the FIA don't cave to pressure from the other teams (who predictably are trying to frame it as a safety issue because they've ****ed up...lol please) and change the race start procedure

What the hell is going to happen when it gets hectic in the pits? Maybe the jack man will need a 'BUILD BOOST' sign for 10 seconds before he flips it around to GREEN
:joycat:

You laugh but we might very well see long pit stops while the drivers charge the battery before leaving the pits.

Jeez it sounds like Aston Martin have fcked it up royally.

So that's one less place for Oscar and mark to look at as an option.

Hopefully Oscar performs well and is seen as a no 1 driver option at either of red bull or Ferrari if verstappen heads to Mercedes.

Sounds more like Honda have ****ed it up to be honest

This is essentially going to turn into the ev charging version of the refueling at the pitstop.

Somehow in the attempt to modernize the cars and keep the technology in line with current technology on the roads, they could very well go back to the racing of decades past.

I read in an article that apparently Honda's engine is responsible for 37.5% of the deficit. Think there are issues with their gearbox which AM have designed inhouse for the first time , after buying them for Mercedes in seasons past.

that's interesting to me, because just having tyre stops is rather dull.

I think people are already bracing for the heavy management drivers will be forced to do in this new regulations era.

I think these new regulations will be the breaking point, before the fans will start screaming for the return of aspirated engines or the hybrid era where it was more ICE than battery powered.

37.5% is oddly specific.

There's never a dull moment with the McLaren pit stops, courtesy of their front-left tyre mechanic.

It won't fun if we have a grid of dudes that are gagged by their team, the FIA, or both. We've been fortunate to have drivers that answer to nobody with nothing to prove for a long time - Seb, Kimi, Max, Lewis.

If Aston have fallen away that badly (which it seems like they might have), I'd be surprised if Alonso doesn't pull the pin.

I can't see him enjoying having a season like Bottas had at Sauber.

Alonso worked hard to get away from the Honda gp2 engine.

Going against the grain here but I'm bullish.

Hopefully looking past all the complexities the racing and reliability is unpredictable and can lead to a close championship fight between multiple drivers.
Stella saying it’s going to be hard to overtake. That’s not going to help things

Potentially but later last year he spoke about this year, and it was the opposite. He said if Aston have a great year he'll likely pull the pin at the end of 2026, but if they don't he will be motivated to go again.

Easy to say but if it's as bad as the Bottas year/his last year at McLaren, I can see him going.

None of the top teams will want him. VCarb are out. Williams are settled. I just don't know there's going to be a huge market for him in any case.
