His time is up but youve got to feel for the bloke.
I do feel for him. Likeable guy, community minded.... but coaching is gladitorial bloodsport. Perform or Die. Our season just died. I hope it isnt done messy like with how they arsed Drum.
I think its ironic that Connolly's golden boy, Scott Thorton arguably just missed a goal that could have saved Connolly's career.
Thornton is just not an AFL footballer. Noone who plays at the top level should miss a shot like that.
What is with putting a man behind the ball to start the game? It hasn't worked for us all season while Farmer's been out - we have no crumbers, and the opposition carry the ball from defence too easily after we kick for Pavlich. Why play with a tall forward line as well when they're out numbering us up there and clearing it away so easily when it hits the ground? THIS HAS HAPPENED ALL SEASON. Why did we not man up after the behind. There was less than a minute to go! Forget the ****ing gameplan!
The team's first instinct is to whinge to the umpire. The team's first instinct is to go the man in preference to the ball. The team waits outside the contest for our a Freo player, up against 3 or more, to win the ball and receive the cute handball. We're out numbered at basic contests every time.
Why does it take so long for us to move the ball forward? Or kick out from goal?
Why does Sandliands never kick? When he gets a free kick/mark, his play is telegraphed because he looks for the handball off EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Connolly's a stickler for his bogus "gameplan". If he isn't sacked soon then this is a joke. And if we go the trade this off season in preference to bringin in young talent - then **** the FFC.

I can only speak for the city end, but our forward structure was a bloody joke today. Dessie was the closest we got to a small forward, and he spent a lot of time up the ground. Surely Schammer, Bell, Crowley, Hasleby and McManus had to be rotated through the forward pocket.
At one stage our forward line consisted of Pavlich, Tarrant, Sandilands, Solomon and Murphy.![]()
