There's been so many good games released in the past couple of weeks that FC3 might get a miss by a lot of people.

I must be one of the only ones who has been waiting for this since January. With 9 days to go I can't wait to put Blops 2 on rest for a few months.. FIFA and FC3 will be swapping spots a lot aha.

I've gone crazy with games in the last month getting AC3, Halo 4, Blops 2, Hitman, FIFA etc i need to settle down and save some $$$.

Will end up getting FC3 but not right now, looks great though.

In the past, Far Cry's vision of a first-person shooter RPG where you explore, master and then control your environment has always been more seductive on paper than any of its developers have managed to deliver on disc. Far Cry 3 changes all that. For me, this is the new apex predator of open-world shooters. Hunt it down as soon as you can.

JB's Standard Edition comes with Lost Expeditions (as long as you pre-order) and is only $69. Monkey business is only on the higher editions though.

Expect both to hit as payed for DLC eventually though.

Gearing up to be one of the best games of 2012 by the looks of things. Will be a travesty if this gets overlooked. I for one haven't purchased many console games this year, but this will definitely be one I do buy.

There are the odd drops in framerate, but it isn’t nowhere near Rimlag proportions and it certainly isn’t game breaking. Fast-travel is now in but if there are multiple points of interest on the map, clustered together, it can be fiddly to choose the fast-travel option. Sometimes you can catch the textures loading as you get near the geometry of the game, but it is handled more subtly than Unreal Engine’s texture pop-ins. I really am grasping at straws here, because these are the only criticisms I have for the game and the rest is as close to gaming perfection as we have come this generation.

If you enjoy shooters with a bit of brain, buy it. If you are a fan of the RPG genre, buy it. If punching a shark sounds awesome, buy it. You know what, just buy it- it’s the best game of the year, if not the generation.
