In my opinion, nothing beats number 2. Spent almost 3x the amount of hours running around the savannah on FC2. Loved it how outposts were always inhabited. Always had you watching your back! Miss that game

Only problem I had with number 2 is once you destroyed an outpost or little hut or tent with bad guys in it, as soon as you turned around and went through it again you had to do it all over again

Not sure I could go back to this purely because of the PTSD from the eagles. It's otherwise a great game but those things are just way too overdone to the point of being obnoxious.

Oh that's tempting. The first FC I played and the one I enjoyed the most.

FC games are great (except 2, I hate that one). They get a lot of shit from certain circles because they're apparently the same with every release; but that's why there's 6 main games and 3 spin-offs, because people know what they get when they buy a FC game. A laid back, no frills, openworld shooter, etc.

Love 100%'ing them as well.

4 is definitely one of my fav's as well, along with 3 and Blood Dragon.

Far Cry has been in steady decline since 3. 4 had a great setting, but a mid story where siding with either rebel leader didn't amount to anything.

That's the one. Ripping game, actually really liked Pagan Min, he was a charismatic villain. Unfortunately didn't get the screen time I would have liked.

I wish Pagan Min had a bigger role too. Antagonists are something that 3-5 nailed but I thought Giancarlo Esposito in 6 was waaayyyy too under utilised for someone of his worth. These games are great junk food. Not everything has to be a GOTY contender.

Number 5 had huge potential for the unique angle they went with the story, yet it just missed the mark. It felt rather.... unfulfilling, especially when compared to 3 and 4. Yet I can't help but feel like they could've killed it if executed properly.

When I first bought three (the first FC I played) I read about how great two was, read it was set in Africa so thought I'd give it a go.

It truly was the perfect gaming representation of a dog turd.

I read Giancarlo didn't have much of an appearance in 6 before I played, but after it I didn't think it was as bad? I had in mind it was as little as Vaas who only has something like 12 minutes of screen time (and it's often said he's one of the best villians in the FC franchise.)

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks 2 was dreadful, haha. The malaria thing and weapon jamming were the absolute least of that games problems. The respawning enemies at checkpoints and the low armour on the vehicles killed that game for me. Spent more time out repairing cars than actually driving.
