Farren will be the 'death by a thousand cuts' type midfielder. His amazing aerobic capacity and good pace off the mark will see him continue to get acres of space, and opposition supporters will continue to underestimate him because he "gets a lot of cheap ball on his own". Alnog with "who the hell is this guy carving us up in the middle", Collingwood supporters were saying the exact same thing in last year's Elimination Final (in between saying "learn to kick straight Tarrant" and "you're a dud Rocca").

The pace of the modern game demands that you need these types in your side.

Sorry, I found this one funny.

Sure, its true he needs to improve his kicking on the run. And whilst he's not big, his weight is enough to get by. And he hasn't played in the guts much cause our midfield kicks arse, but he's a wingman anyway. Suited to be a reciever, as someone said earlier he leads the league in run and carry with the ball.

The "when" line though is awesome, when we drafted him he was like tambling. Skinny as anything and viewed as a 3 to 4 year player. He's now coming of age, occasionally dominating games through the middle. And he'd be hurting the opposition a lot more if he did improve his kicking on the run. What he seems to do is sprint full out though the middle, but once he's through he doesn't steady himself up and therefore does a rush kick at full pace for goal, often resulting in points. If he learns to improve this facet and briefly slow down before he kicks, he'll kick 2 goals a game easy, and go even further towards dominating games.

I find it funny too.......the "when" lines are now becoming "if" lines :)

First post. Hi guys. I think both Ray and Tambling will turn out to be great footballers. For starters they are only 2 and 3 years into their careers perspectively and are no where near fully developed so it is hard to compare players so early on. My vote went to Tambling as i believe he has a bigger upside then Ray. Both are a long way from their best football at this point.
