Okay, you can believe that if you like, but what about all the other regulatory bodies that have tested it around the world? What about the sheer weight of independent research?
You can believe regulatory bodies that are corrupted and paid off and I will use common sense, three chemicals mixed together to make another chemical are still just a chemical

You're talking about a chemical that has been approved by regulatory bodies in almost 100 countries and has decades of science backing its safety.

You're implicating that there's a global conspiracy that would make the moon landing hoax look like child's play. It's just not rational to discount one of the largest scientific consensuses based on fringe theories and anecdotal evidence.

Well this turned into the conspiracy board quick enough.

Aspartame is one of the most researched substances in human history and one of the most approved. It's perfectly safe in humans in normal amounts.

A can of normal cola is far more harmful than its diet counterpart.

LOL. You can't be serious can you? :$

Firstly, both are terrible for you health. They are not food.

Secondly, aspartame is known to cause terrible effects on the body particularly those that relate to the nervous systems. MS has been linked to consumption of asparatame.

It's really not that hard to know what the difference is between food and non-food.

Live and let live I reckon, no need to worry about how other people choose to spend their time.

When it comes to obesity "live and let live" isn't a good way of saying it.

"Live and let them get diabetes and heart failure in their 50s" is more accurate.

Either or, don't let it concern you so much and you'll live a much more fruitful and happy life!

What's the big problem that scares people though? Shortened life span of others, unhealthy kids?

I don't think anyone's scared of it. The problem is a burden on the health system and on healthy people. It costs so much money to treat people, when preventative measures are so much cheaper. I'm fed up with people who trash their bodies be treated equally with those who take good care of themselves. For example, I hope to donate my organs when I die, but I don't want my liver going to a drinker, or my lungs going to a smoker (if they can transplant lungs?). I have no problem with what people do with their bodies or livelihoods, but healthy people shouldn't suffer because of it. People who have no regard for their body just want an easy way out. Join the back of the line I reckon.

I don't think you understand how organ transplant works.

There is a very strict criteria.

I do not virulently dislike obese people. I virulently dislike that so many people are obese. I also virulently dislike the fat acceptance movement.

One of my bosses at work is hugely obese yet most days I see her order 2 lunches, have coke, energy drinks etc etc. She doesn't complain about it though which is good and can also have a laugh about it

And when they become a drain on the health system?
Plenty of people are drains on the health system for various reasons. Smokers, drinkers, addicted people of all kinds. I'm not going to sit here and tut tut at them for their lifestyles when mine isn't exactly a picture of health.

Smokers and drinkers are deliberately targeted by Governments through excises and taxes, not because the Government gives a shit about saving lives, but because these people clog up hospitals later in life.

Obese people should be targeted by excises on junk foods and drinks....and jailed if they wear lycra.
