Fifa world cup games are pretty good imo. enjoyed the 06 on the ps2 and enjoyed 10 on the ps3. i love the captain your country and the full qualifying stages.

Gameplay wise they are pretty much exact, I did still enjoy WC 2010 over FIFA 11 for the whole playing in the world cup and the online qualifying which was pretty fun.

PES 5/6 around those numbers are still the best soccer games out there (not including Football Manager).

Once you get past "OMG ARSENAL ARE LONDONZZZZ@!11122" factor it was easily the best soccer game. Besides nowadays it's very easy to get an awesome, awesome edit file that fixes that quickly. Much easier and better to do so on PC but you can basically get 1:1 shirts, sponsors and everything if you're not a dingus.

FIFA have improved a lot but still not as good as PES 5. PES have gone dowhill and have overcooked the goose.

I'll probably still get it no matter what, every year I say I won't but I end up buying it anyway. Fifa World Cup '10 was awesome, I was looking forward to Fifa 11 because of it but it wasn't the same. If they could replicate South Africa and put in clubs instead, I'd be happy.

Definitely agree about FIFA World Cup.

So fast paced, really quick and tactical.

The slower pace of FIFA 11 works against it's tactical nature and for me turns the game too much into a one note style. I still enjoy the game immensely, but it's nowhere near as fun as FIFA World Cup.

I remember playing World Cup and the best thing being that I could play up the middle, out wide or both during a match and wouldn't suffer from repetition of tactical styles. Also really loved linking up tons of passes through the midfield and into the forward line.

For FIFA 11 it seems to basically be, go wide, cross in, goal. Or online you go wide and try and wrong foot the opposition and waltz your way in due to the minor lag of the players and it being extremely hard to continue going one way and the next in defence.

Would like to see FIFA 12 up the pace a bit more.

I don't pick up on the in-game glitches as some others do so it's not a issue for me.

They need to keep progressing with the player part of career mode. Things like change of manager, tactics and player transfers were sorely missed.

And I know not too many people would care about this but I reckon they need to add a 'no-fail mode' to careers. Ever been going alright in your season and then all of a sudden you're fired and you've got to start again with a club you really don't want to play as? That needs to stop. Something that I really enjoyed about the TCM series was that you could have a mediocre season and not get fired.

Had Fifa World Cup loved it thought it was a blast. Was gonna get Fifa 11 when it came out but got 2K11 and Black Ops instead. I could get it now for 39.95 but is it worth it or should I wait for Fifa 12? I haven't got a Fifa on the next gen besides World Cup so maybe I'll wait for Fifa 12.

I remember back in the early 00's when every year something noticeably changed for the better, and it was worth your money picking up the new version. Nowadays they add barely any value, and could really release an update over XBL or PSN for any additions (yes, they wouldn't make any money).

Things I hope they work on:
1) Player growth...stuffed up big time in 11
2) Manager mode...need to freshen things up
3) reserve teams...especially in the top leagues!!! I get sick of having heaps of quality depth to cover injuries but can't play & grow players
4) I would like to see managers (coaches) make a impact. ie...good managers have a more positive impact on player growth and consistancy. have it so you can recruit managers

I agree with scouting...I used to love taking control of a English league 2 team with no cash to using the scout option to find talent...then push towards the premier league

The impact engine looks freaking sweet. As does the injury sensor.

Should be interesting to see how they go with career mode though. They need an incentive of some sort so that gamers are playing it for the entire year, possibly beyond, until the next one comes out.

More teams leagues and stadiums is what I want, maybe downloadable content if its something that was not included in the game like maybe Chinese super league teams (so I can play an ACL with Sydney FC), other stadiums and things like that for example, I think they already have a team editor. It would be good to allow users to upload these things online and the possibilities can be endless.

On the lighter side though the hooliganism element is somewhat missing from the game, just imagine if you saw the Hammers Inter City Firm running rampant at Stamford Bridge mid game, it might sound wrong but it adds to the 'realism' of it all

I know I request this every year but I still want them to keep working on crowd graphics. It's gotten better the last few years but still needs some work.

I like the idea of the Impact Engine, but there's not much chance that it'll be any good for this years version.

You could already see in that vid there were a ton of glitches and body spaz outs due to the engine being new and relatively untested.

I just hope that at it's worst it relates more to players spazzing out after a tackle on the ground more than just flipping or falling over from minor touches...which I can see many a rage moment potentially happening.

"I was running it out of defence and got the SLIGHTEST clip from the opposition, player went flying, ball went to him, they got a goal!"

etc.

Really liked the Torres injury though, the way his leg bent back behind him, then he grabbed for it and got up and was going to limp on it.

FIFA 13 will be where it shines unfortunately.

I would simply love a Fifa game that doesn't cause me to spaz out and go apeshit due to poor AI.

The whole tackling system needs a major shake up. FIFA11 dropped the ball on this one too. It's almost impossible to tackle someone whether they be in a shit or good team. Yet they can tackle you with no problem and no foul almost 99% of the time. Plus when a ball runs free from a tackle it ALWAYS runs free to an unmarked opposition player. Why? How can this happen?

Manager mode needs a major shake up. Have it so the manager can says things in the media that helps and hinders his team, gets the right signings, psychs out an oppositing team, gets himself banned from the touchline etc. Give it some drama ffs. I want to act like the Great One sometimes!

Player career mode is a good idea but why is it that no matter whatever team you play for there's no managerial in game tatics employed other than subs? During transfer windows everyone else is getting signings expect your team? Why? And for the record, who gives a flying fat rats about having a game face downloaded? It's a complete waste of time and quite frankly insulting to serious gamers.

A very tired formula all in all and a massive overhaul is required. I don't see it happening for at least another three to four years.

I like the game face. But I hate doing facial editing.

I agree with all your other points though Runknisse. I love playing a player career mode and tearing shit up as a one-man team but there were huge glitches with a lack of tactic changes and transfer movements both short- and long-term. Got pretty boring after a bit.
