Yeh their overall chem is 10, but that doesn't mean individual chem between players is 10 though I think? Just means that overall chem is 10. Imagine the chem between two CB's is low. Always have assumed that matters as well.

Everyone there is 10 chem except for Thauvin because he's RM, I don't mind the Red as long as everyone has 10 chem, should be sweet.

Really? Always thought that it did. I know the overall effect of chem, but though that relationships between individual players was also important outside of that. Maybe I was wrong.

Lots of info in here from about how chemistry and chem styles work, it says that chem on a player is 75% their individual chem rating and 25% team chem.
Really liking the amount of info that EA are putting out this year through 'The Pitch Notes'.

Definitely do it, DDG is a MASSIVE upgrade on Leno. Martial is kinda a no brainer too, especially on those wages. And his potential is 89. Who are your CBs again? How are you finding Tierney? He gets exposed a lot, but I have faith he's going to come good.

Might try and turf Ozil now then while I am still in Jan.

I want to sell Mkhi too but I am not sure who I would bring in. Might just wait until the summer to offload. What's good is that his overall is 84 and he's versatile. I have bought mids to replace him eventually, but they're still young - Aouar (recommend - he's cheap), De Jong and not good enough to start every week/come on when chasing a game. But I don't have an out and out AM to replace him. I bought Alex Telles as a LB, he's been pretty solid. I think I might have invested a bit too much in youth, but they're not doing too badly.

I also play a 4-2-3-1. Auba dominates for me from the LW. I suggest you fiddle with tactics and instructions. He has been great for me. My CM rotates between Aouar/De Jong for the creative part and Doucore/Tousart/Torreira for the defensive part. I recommend Tousart. Potential 85, solid tackling stats too. Ozil is my AM. 7 goals and 6 assists in 20 games. Can't wait to have DDG and Martial in the side! Godin will be great too.

I realised last night I really want Dybala so may go all out in the summer.

Pretty much no one when I think about it, blew my money on first team players and setting up the scouting network.
Definitely something I'll need to address in January.

Ah right. You managed to snag Kouliably AND Asensio though, that's massive. I got rid of Ramsey as soon as I could because his contract was gonna be up and I had no interest in keeping him. Only got 22m but better than nothing for a player I didn't want. I think I got 34m for Xhaka. Flogged Mustafi too. I remembered El-Neny is another who shipped out as soon as I could.

I highly recommend De Ligt who becomes one of the best defenders in the game. Depending on your budget and where your needs are, there is obviously plenty available. Tousart is a pretty well rounded mid. In saying that, his passing/vision isn't amazing, but if you need stability, he's a great choice. Aouar is creative and has a decent shot on him, as is De Jong (excellent passer and great control/technique, but finishing leaves a lot to be desired).

Played a heap tonight and managed to flog Ozil to PSG (they have also bought Kolasinac and Ramsey from me too ) for 77m. Board is gonna give me 71m from that. Will look at investing in Asensio or Eriksen. Really liking the idea of Eriksen, but Asensio is so much younger so better representation for money.

Drew Fenerbahce in the EL round of 32. Beat them 4-1 away, then I rotated and lost 3-0 at home. Leno was garbage. Smashed Hull 4-0 in the FA Cup 5th round. Destroyed Cardiff in the league too 4-1.

My last match was Chelsea in the EL round of 16. Beat them 3-0 away with goals from Auba, Ozil and Laca. They hit the post twice when I was 1-0 up so I got lucky. Was an entertaining game though. Leno actually behaved like a goalkeeper. United in the league next away and then the return leg of the Chelsea match. Some real FM fixturing there!

Just play games to start with to build cash. Doesn't really matter what game type you do, I always just go straight to what is now called "rivals" but you can play single player if you prefer. You can google cash making strategies, but a lot of them take too much time and I've found just playing games is the best money maker early.

You can get extra cash buy purchasing bonuses in the EA catalogue with EA points you've earned while playing. You can get an extra 1000+ coins a game.

I always play with 2 squads. Play with Squad A for 2 games, then swap to Squad B so stamina recoups on the other one. Its important to have the players in squad A as subs and reserves for Squad B, otherwise they won't recoup stamina. And vice-versa. (this may have changed this year, but I do it anyway).

Work out what leagues or teams you want to play with. So I started with PL and Bundes. Bundes, Ligue 1, Serie A are good places to start because you can get good players for cheap. PL isn't that bad either I've found this year.

I use futwiz to find players. You can sort players by stats you find important. So for defenders's you can look up players who have good PACE, DEF and PHY. Then look them up on the transfer page and see which ones are best value. My starting squads were 6000 each and were very decent.

Sell players that aren't in your 2 squads. You don't need them unless you want to do SBC's. Search through Buy It Now Prices of your player before you sell so you can work out how much he is worth. I always sell for the bottom BIN price as they are guaranteed to sell. BIN prices are always higher than auction prices.

Avoid buying packs. They usually aren't worth it, particularly at the start. You're better off investing in quality cheap players.

If you somehow pack a really expensive player, like a Mertens or similar, and the rest of your squad is average, you are better off selling that player and investing in your squad overall.

SBC's can be a good way to get packs. You can then sell the players you don't want to make some cash. But get your squads sorted before starting on these as you might get good packs, or you might get terrible ones and you'll have wasted more cash than you've earned.

That's how I do it, I'm sure others do it differently.

Who did you play?

I've left everything on default now. The only thing I'd consider changing is CPU pass error, CPU speed and CPU strength. Everything else is pretty good. They miss some sitters, but so do I.

Playing the AI on legendary in squad battles feels a lot more frustrating and cheesier than last year. Superhuman goalkeepers and flawless one touch passing and ridiculous through ball accuracy, every bounce/tackle goes their way and in the 20+ games I've yet to receive one foul even though they clearly hack me up.

Sides with low chem are ping ponging it around with amazing pin point accuracy and speed and dominating me more than teams with 100 chem and higher ratings.
