Personally I'd play Haaland in LS as he's left footed. That card looks amazing, plan on trying him out soon hopefully. What's he like?
Haven't had a chance to use him online yet but in three legendary squad battle matches he netted 10 goals for me. His base card is really good too so i think might sell and get that back and pick up the TOTW Upamecano to replace Hummels.

Had some BIG packs from rivals rewards plus an extra Rare Mega pack from an SBC.
Got Allison, Fred, Semedo as my best players.

Going to be hard but I'm going to carry this team till TOTY and save all my packs! Try and get a FO TOTY player.

Aubameyang, dembele, pulisic, Lehman, Gundogan, mkhityran
Lehman isn’t in the game this year. Think he’s the only legend that played for Dortmund who was in the game?

Sucks cos it makes it almost impossible to link Demble/Auba with current Dortmund players with no legends.

Had some crazy pack luck today. Rivals rewards i pulled Haaland, Rashford, Davies, Adama and Moussa Sissoko. Sold them and sold Lewa, TOTW Erling, Reus and Sane because i really struggled online with them to put me at 1.2 mil.

Then spent about 5k of that to finish off the League and Hybrid nation SBC and pulled OTW Alex Telles, Ederson and Wan-Bissaka. Thinking now's the time to bring in a top end and mid range icon to make hybrid squads easier to do.

Had some pack luck although the 88 & 87 players I pulled have been Kroos & Busquets, who only go for around 15k - 25k each on the Switch.

Switch market is only ever around 25k strong really and some players are very very rare indeed. Interesting times and making it tricky to complete some squads as there quite often literally isn't that player in the market.

Dries Mertens a perfect example of this.

got my first walkout of the year out of MM today! Only Robertson, but he goes for the same amount as the new IF SMS whose regular card is in my team, so sold him off and made the upgrade ahead of this weekend.

Got Sterling in my Rivals rewards. Sold for 125k.

New OTW players out tomorrow, have 250k in my club atm so will save up and hopefully be able to afford OTW Sane.
Will be interesting if Sane wins POTM, will likely be cheaper, higher rated (initially) and grindable via SBC.

Have you done all the advanced, league hybrid and nation hybrid SBCs?
Nah not yet. I was wondering if i should hold out on completing those until better TOTY cards come out? Ive done all the other SBC's which just have premium gold pack rewards, etc.

How's it play? Played FIFA religiously up until about 16, tried to get back into it for 20 and found no enjoyment. Is there any noticeable gameplay improvement
i havent player since FIFA 19 but what ive noticed is that defending is a bit harder. Corners i can actually get my attackers to get a head on it, rather than it being 99% chance headed away by defenders. Crossing and lobbed passes seem a bit more effective. The biggest change ive noticed is freekicks from just outside the box. I like it a lot better than 2 years ago.

Nah, smash them out. Those rare mega packs are pretty lit. They're tradable so anything you get you can sell for coin

As a Switch user who hasn't played in years can you please describe what rivals and squad battles is?

Sqaud battles is against the CPU. You have 40 matches per week (Monday 11am ish) to get as many points as possible. The teams are randomly rated teams that you can play on the difficulty you select. The higher the difficulty the more points. The more points you get the higher rank you will be for rewards and the higher rank the better the rewards.
Rivals is the same but 30 games against other players. You get more points for wins and more points for how many goals you score. The amount of points you get put you into a certain rank. Higher rank, better rewards.
Sqaud battles is set rewards for each rank that are tradable. Rivals you can choose between the option of coins, tradable packs or untradable packs (get 2x)
I'm not sure if this varies on the switch though.

Don't think there's anything like this on the Switch. I just stick to Seasons though.

20 is so different from about 15 through 19, you didn't notice any change?

21 is a tiny iteration on top of 20

Can't agree with your summation of free kicks. I hate the new system and used to net plenty in the 17-19 days, a lot from well outside the box too.

I managed a grand total of 1 successful free kick in 20

Maybe it's better again in 21, but I'm assuming it's very close to 20
