Clever. I look forward to us bucking the trend even further and appointing someone not even on our list as captain.

That leaves Brisbane, West Coast and GWS. I believe Adcock is Brisbane's captain but who are the other two?The captain of all the following teams is in their top 5 players. They obviously didn't read the script.
Hawthorn
Port
Sydney
Geelong
Essendon
Colligwood
Freo
Carlton
Bulldogs
Meblourne
St Kilda
Richmond
Gold Coast
North Mebourne

Sounds good, worked for us last year.Historically there's been an enormous emphasis on the off-field work at our club. We've been reliably informed that on-field is only a small part of the overall role. So Glass as club captain and his deputy does the in-game stuff.

Shaw is a natural right footer though - just hasn't realised yetI was a left footer before it was cool. Kicked it about as well as Sam Shaw though.

I'd play VB across half back. I think he'd make a reasonable accountable team first defender while covering for more attacking/offensive minded players like Jaensch/Hendo.Sloane is team first and can get the job done, question marks a plenty over VB. VB plays his best footy as a tagger, when he played as a wingman in 2013 he should have been dropped.

Couldnt agree more with this comment. Hopefully walsh has the same mindset.I'd play VB across half back. I think he'd make a reasonable accountable team first defender while covering for more attacking/offensive minded players like Jaensch/Hendo.
For example against Port he would be a good match up against Gray when they have Wingard and Gray both up forward.
Brown v Wingard
VB v Gray
In fact for that game he could follow Gray wherever he plays. He would also add much needed leadership to our defense.
I'd use Kerridge as primary tagger now and when Walsh doesn't want to use a tagger (which apparently is pretty often), Kerridge has the versatility to play at half forwar and rotate onto wing.
thats not big enough for andrew websterWe need andrew webster to tell us who will be captain
According to Webs, our captain has been hijacked by Somali pirates
Hartigan would be the weak link there, yes? Try Pods. And Cheney unproven, makes too many beginners for my comfort. Start with Radar, unless the coach's praise for Kyle holds strong all the way to round 1 and he is still in coach's first team. But I don't like two newbies side by side on the goal line.the backline will look like this rd 1.
Cheney / Hartigan / Brown
VB / Talia / Jaensch
