Really? I’d take Haddin every day of the week and twice on Tuesdays.Yes, although Carey has already gone past him.

Well I could agree with you on that but then we’d both be wrong.Really? I’d take Haddin every day of the week and twice on Tuesdays.
watIncorrect. Carey is elite and will be around for a long time. Won’t be long until he overtakes Gilly as the GOAT keeper. Already 2nd.
Peirson is an inferior keeper to Carey, let alone InglisPierson better with the gloves and was extremely good with the bat both last shield season and in the Australia A game. Would rather Inglis than Carey though

Yeah, he really is. And Carey's a better keeper than Wade.Lol no he isn’t. Carey is inferior to Wade
I’ll have some of what you are smoking. There is no planet in which Carey is better than Pierson with the glovesYeah, he really is. And Carey's a better keeper than Wade.
Inglis is probably the best regular keeper in the country, followed by Harper and Nielsen. Haven't seen enough of Holt for NSW but he could overtake those two. After that it's Carey, Doran and Peirson.
Do you actually watch the Shield? If you did there would be no way that you'd rate Peirson as a keeper. He's a very good bat but regularly drops sitters with the gloves.I’ll have some of what you are smoking. There is no planet in which Carey is better than Pierson with the gloves
I think they'll persist with Carey whilst the results are deemed good and he's averaging 30+.
So far with him in the team we've belted England and won away in Pakistan and drawn away in Sri Lanka.
He did score 76 last shield gameIf Head does badly next game he could be in trouble
Right now it's probably:
Khawaja
Warner (with Renshaw/Ward close)
Labuschagne
Smith
Head (Handscomb close)
Green
Carey (+)
Cummins (c)
2× Starc/Hazlewood/Richardson/Boland
Lyon
With 3 innings of a combined 11 as well.He did score 76 last shield game
still 3 shield games to go before the start of the test summer
97, great innings. Three other innings of a combined 24.Hunt ??
He also scored a hundred against Sri Lanka in spinning conditions batting last.. for Aus AWith 3 innings of a combined 11 as well.

Fair enough, didn't know that. But he still needs to displace the incumbents rather than defend his place. He also scored a hundred against Sri Lanka in spinning conditions batting last.. for Aus A

Peter Handscomb getting close to a return to test cricket,Head is struggling.
I'd be surprised, Head was our bat of the Summer last year vs England they'll start with him.
Renshaw just needs to be patient and keep his head down, he's still young, there'll be an openers spot opening up in a few years and we could end up with an established first class batsman ready to step up which is not a luxury we've enjoyed all that often recently.I suspect selectors will still have reservations about Handscomb playing tests on quicker wickets after the way he was figured out at international level. Renshaw has certainly done himself no harm and can't imagine he would be too far off if anything was to happen to anyone in the top 6, also made a few 100's over in England during the county season. I'd have Handscomb and Renshaw in the squad to India next year, comfortably two of the better players of spin we have.
Refreshing to see QLD use him as an opening bat again... where he should of been for the past few yearsRenshaw just needs to be patient and keep his head down, he's still young, there'll be an openers spot opening up in a few years and we could end up with an established first class batsman ready to step up which is not a luxury we've enjoyed all that often recently.
Eh, he averaged 20 opening for about a 2.5 year period before he went down the order, needed to change something up to get out of the rut and it looks like it may have worked.Refreshing to see QLD use him as an opening bat again... where he should of been for the past few years![]()
