Michael Reeves' gridion pants with the pads in them were a classic...too combat Simon Madden from corking him all game.

I still laugh when people in this day and age comment about how built so and so is etc, but today's players have nothing on Mick Conlan and Doug Barwick were back in the day, appreciating that the game is different today.

They were a pair of solid units alright, you don't see them get that big these days. How about the old 15 metre penalties? And some Essendon players had the old lace up guernseys on. And Paul Roos smashing Glen Hawker by flying over him to punch the ball 30 metres. And the crowd running on the field as soon as the siren went. Bring back the old days!!!!

I may be a touch biased however I have never since a finer game of Aussie rules than this classic. Twas a brilliant match from start to finish with sheer guts and determination portrayed by all players. My tape of the fourth quarter in particular has become very scratchy at my house.

Yep had to work this morning but made it home to see the last 6 minutes.
Was there with dad in the grandstand. I nearly teared up this morning. We havn't been to a game since.
And it has NEVER been the same.

Yep it does. With the logo crap I have started calling Brisbane the Bears again, for as far as I am concerned that's what they are. Thankfully I have found Port Melbourne which has filled most of my football void. I know some of you now support different AFL clubs, however, that is something I could never do.

I might catch up with some of you at Fitzroy VAFA games as I plan to go to a few this year, even purchased a membership.
