Tribute Match Selections

The following Bombers got selected in the tribute match squads....

Dream Team
Alwyn Davey

Victorian Team
Dustin Fletcher
David Hille
Matthew Lloyd
Brent Stanton

Anyone miss out that should of made it? Any surprises above?
Who will play and who wont?

I think McVeigh and Lucas would of been there, but for their respective injuries.
Ryder must of gone close to making the squad..at the very least I would of thought. However we can now look at that as a blessing, Ryder will now get a weeks rest which will be great.

Davey I think will go close, Fletcher I think will play, Lloyd close, but I think Hille and Stanton might get cut from the squad....

Re: Tribute Match Selections

I don't think Stanton will make the final team. Hille is a very good chance though. I think Fletcher and Lloyd will both play. McVeigh would have been a monty if he wasn't injured IMO.

Re: Tribute Match Selections

PS, some of those selections were a joke! Guys like Charman, Edwards, Kerr, McPharlin, Lloyd, Cloke, Goodes, Gram, Brad and Steve Johnson, Simpson and Murphy all got selected on reputation IMO, not on form this year.

Re: Tribute Match Selections

Even after having Said Lloyd selection was garbage, he might be a chance of playing. The vics have only selected 3 FF's in the squad: Lloyd, Fev and Bradshaw. You would think Lloyd would be ahead of Bradshaw at the moment and you just never know whats going to happen with Fev. Its wouldnt be unlike him to not kick a goal for 2 weeks now.

Re: Tribute Match Selections

Bradshaw is currently third in the Coleman averaging four goals a game. I'm pretty sure he will be looked at ahead of Lloyd.

Re: Tribute Match Selections

i can't believe paddy didn't make the squad at least. he is pretty much the inform defender of the league i would have thought

Re: Tribute Match Selections

Dream Team
Alwyn Davey - 50/50. I've slotted him onto the bench through bias - but hard to see the likes of Edwards; Griffen; Hayes; Kirk missing at his expense.

Victorian Team
Dustin Fletcher - Certain selection. With only KP backs in VIC squad being Fletcher; Scarlett; Campbell Brown & Dale Morris - they need to stop the likes of Buddy; Pav; Riewoldt & Richo. Bradshaw may have to drop down back to help cover too?
David Hille - Certain selection. Jeff White & Josh Fraser are the only rucks in the squad (if you can call Fraser a ruckman, that is, after being outmarked by Bell)
Matthew Lloyd - Likely selection if fit. With a 7 man bench they will take in at least 4 KP forwards. J Brown & Fevola are shoe-ins (pending injury, suspension and Fev stupidity) which leaves Lloyd, Bradshaw & Cloke fighting for at least 2 more position.
Brent Stanton - Unlikely - strong VIC midfield. Chance for a bench if form improves.

the selection criteria was on last year's form mostly. well that's what they said anyway. i would've thought brendon lade, a champion grand finalist-ruckman would been ahead of charman.

Re: Tribute Match Selections

We done Davey! Great to see him selected in the DT team.

DT are going to rape the Vics. Expect 50+ point thrasing...

Re: Tribute Match Selections

Alwyn Davey - Yeah, don't see him making final selection over some of the other talents, even though he is good. Good!

Dustin Fletcher - Umm... yeah, you know those knee and groin problems Dusty has had, well they are back, sorry selectors. :D

David Hille - Huh, funny thing happened at training the other day and Hilley got hit hard and has redamaged a nerve in his neck, oh well, next year?.

Matthew Lloyd - Matty's calf and hammy are playing up again. Oh well, everyone seems to be saying he is over the hill anyway so I'm sure he won't be missed. :p

Brent Stanton - Damn Stants and his good (injury free) health! Umm... windy hill flu?

Done and done. See, unfortunately no Essendon players can make it, oh well.:(:D

What rubbish. How many players have been picked on reputation or potential, it's a joke. Have they not seen Daniel Cross play the last 3 years.

Like Merv said, the less amount of players we have picked the better. :thumbsu:

Cross>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Simpson
