quiet day. seems to be a good spread of votes so far. no ultra pessimism which is good to see!

i think the fact we only have the 5 travel games makes me a bit more optimistic than i may have been during the christensen trade fiasco...

I'd guess with 8 games at Geelong, you'd think 6-7 home wins is a reasonable estimate. Add in the rest from interstate and Melbourne games and 15 or so wins at least is achievable.

15 wins minimum, never know in a couple games, especially the Hawks, ive got us losing both the Hawks games.

Breaking it i to 5 game periods and being conservative i see:
2 losses 1-5
2 losses 6-10
2 losses 11-15
2 losses 16-20
Win the last two. So 8 losses, thats 14 wins.

Key games that may improve our season:
Fremantle round 2
Essendon round 10
Adelaide round 14
Sydney round 19

I can see quite a range depending on how we fair in our double up games, and Collingwoods and Adelaide's season.

If we go 1-1 wth Hawks, Swans and Kangaroos, and win both against Adelaide and Collingwood, that's 7 wins from that group and we would be flying, possibly to top 4.

Go 0-2 Against Hawks, Swans and Kangaroos, and go 1-1 Against Adelaide and Collingwood and thats 2 wins from 10, lucky to make the eight, would need to win most other games.

Id like to think we can at a minimum win both Collingwood games, and at least split Adelaide and Kangaroos for 4-6. Throw in a likely Port Adelaide loss, and another 1 or 2 others and I think we might end up around the 14 wins mark.

I'm prepared to stick my neck out and say that there is no way we are going to beat Carlton twice in H&A again in 2105...

Im quite bullish for next season - all these list changes - i think the Cats might be rejuvinated ( there was some lack- lustre efforts last season - even though they won alot of games

Blokes like Mackie and Kelly and a few others - might want to go out with a bang - in perhaps their final season of AFL- rather than just go through the motions - like a few of them did this year

Im tipping 16 wins - and looking forward to next season

Looks like I'm one of the more pessimistic on here about next season in guessing 13 wins.

My reasoning being guys like Bartel, Kelly, Enright, Johnson, Stokes etc are another year older and despite the fact I love Joel for putting the heat on them saying they need to improve I'm not entirely sure that's realistic.

Also we went 6-0 in games decided by 10 points or less, I imagine that will probably even out a little more next season.

And lastly none of the opponents we play twice are gimmes so are up against it a little bit. But hey, it's ridiculously early days.

That Round 2-4 stretch at KP is pivotal with all games against decent opposition.

I think the year after we are a chance depending on free agency I just don't think Joel will get enough midfield + Ruck support

All I really want is to see the club beat hawthorn in a grand final. I think 15 wins would be a nice launching point. Fit and healthy list and I think the sky is the limit.

But of course, like any year, that's before knowing which sides are going to rise and who is going to plummet.
That's true, Partridge. I remember being annoyed that we somehow randomly drew Brisbane and North Melbourne for our double-up games last year, after struggling against both teams the previous year. Brisbane faded badly and suddenly what seemed to be a horrible draw suddenly turned out more favourable.
I'm hoping the Crows do a "Brisbane" next year. (I think we face them twice.)
