Opinion Fixture Request: More games at the 'G

Running out of legs was probably what ultimately lost it for us, but I still can't help but think that the MCG looms over us somewhat. I'd love to play at least 4 or 5 games there next home and away season, just to familiarise ourselves with the ground. If things go our way, next year could very well be ours.
Is this feasible? Do clubs ever make requests of this nature (the away ground we'd like to play at)?

Yep, just goes to show the AFL are more interested in making money than running a fair competition.

They should have scheduled it at Etihad. Eagles couldn't play in Perth on the Saturday either.

Nothing against you personally but I find this argument really weak minded.

Be good enough to finish top 4, and we don't travel in the second week and we get the benefit of any extra day breaks.

Its weak minded for the players to use it as an excuse. And yet Malthouse in the paper said it would be an issue. I would take his opinion over yours, sorry

We won't get more than 1 or 2 games there. It sucks, but the AFL would prefer the smaller crowds to be at Etihad. Couple this with every second Vic club selling off home games, I'm surprised we haven't been sent to Darwin or Cairns yet.

What money on us being sent to New Zealand for these bloody St. Kilda games over the next few years?

MCG is reserved for the big games between Coll/Ess/Carl/Haw/Geel and for the poorer Vic clubs who need the cash by playing Collingwood there.

It shouldnt be used as an excuse publicly, but no doubt it has an impact in a final the 2 day less break. Its not really good enough by the AFL and whoever else had a hand in it, but then as well like others said you get more benefit if you finish top 4.

The unfairness of the competition really is embarassing and it sucks, it will never be mildly fair until both teams play each other twice (or once). The AFL needs to do away with the pre season and make this happen.

Whenever we are "on the up" this topic ALWAYS arises "struggle on the road", "cant win at the G", the Robbos of this world (I.e inarticulate idiots) gobble this up everytime, meanwhile the more sensible types (Dunstall per last night) simply point out that it's hard to beat good teams away and when you are good enough you do... This team just isn't good enough yet.

In the late 80's/early 90's it was an issue, in the early 00's it was an issue and now it's an issue and always for the same reason, we aren't good enough "yet"...

We will not lose a GF we are good enough to win because of the G.
