Dont know if i am on the right thread title - but seeing it is classic games - i thought i would post it here

Last night on the Carlton board - they have got a thread title - classic carlton games i think it was - and one poster put up the 1995 Car/Geel game at Princess Park - Carlton won by less than a goal

And that poster put up the vision - basically the entire 2nd half - so for something to do i watched the 2nd half

Now im not interested in a debate as to which era footballers were somehow better or worse - because common sense says with the same training they would be as good as each other irrespective of eras

That game is a great example why football then was exciting - its end to end stuff - constant movement - no rolling mauls - players in their proper positions etc

And the only conclusion that a sane person or supporter could draw from watching that game - and style of game - is that compared to that - todays/game ( bar a few exceptions ) is just total utter shiit

A Richmond supporter put up ( goes for about 20 minutes ) highlights of Ablett Snr in a preseason match out their against Carlton in 1987

Id never seen that before - it is incredible stuff - well worth a watch - and an interview with him at the end of the game
