The vast majority of those numbers are completely irrelevant when talking about a third tall defender. There is no point quoting things like hitouts, marks inside 50, tackles inside 50, clearances, etc when talking about defenders thry are stats for completely other roles

Not criticising Frog, he has been great since he worked his way back into our side, IMO Ballard is just a better player.

Just like Toby Greene is better than Lincoln McCarthy, Christian Petracca is better than Cam Rayner and Clayton Oliver is better than Jarrod Berry etc, doesn't mean I don't like Linc, Jarrod and Cam.

Any chance we can move past the constant Lester rubbish? It’s now derailing every bloody thread on here. Yes the ignore function is there but it interrupts the flow of every conversation.

No one is overly criticising Lester. I haven’t seen anything but general praise for his season in here besides the odd few comments. So there’s no need to justify his worth in every damn thread / conversation.

Just catching up watching some of the footy shows from over the last couple of days.

Hold the presses... 4 Collingwood players have a sniffle and have been isolated from the team, another obstacle they will have to overcome. The sycophantic brown nosing of Collingwood from the media is stomach churning.

Heaven help us if they win the flag, if it happens I think I will depart for an impromptu off grid trek for a week or so to avoid the flagellation and adoration.

I agree. Look at Brandon Starcevich for example. He is one of the best lockdown defenders in the league and his contribution to our defence is immense, but you wouldn’t know that from his weekly stats.

I was really critical of Jack Payne late last year and early this year, particularly in terms of his work on the deck, but he has improved out of sight this year. A big part of this improvement is because he has been able to concentrate on playing games on his terms and focusing on the ball in the air. This is where Lester, Starcevich and McKenna come in, because their work on the deck has meant that Payne is free to develop his strengths in the air, while they have the ground ball covered. Add Wilmot and Coleman to the mix and it is completely apparent that our defensive unit is the most cohesive and rock solid that it has been for over a decade. The symbiosis that exists in our defensive group can’t be covered, calculated and quantified statistically, but boy oh boy, you can see it!

****, hope it all goes well. I was told that's the most likely option for me last year but they didn't want to do it because I was too young as they'd have to do it a second time, and after they told me all the wherewithals I came around to their POV.

I know someone who had this done not long ago. It's worked a treat, 95% through recovery. Happy as Larry and so glad to be without the constant pain..

I don’t mind kicking on the left. I’ve made a conscious effort to use my left when kicking with my son. I’ve always stressed the need to use both sides and one of my favourite things is when he uses the left in a game. Hits them ok too.
