The main reason the VFL can't be counted is because you've just banned WA and SA clubs from winning it.
Yes, that too.
Either way if the AFL want to continue the McClelland it should only be a trophy.

Does anyone in the media or general public ever talk about who won the McClelland.
Apart from this year when they added a $1 million prize.
The Dees love the concept though.

About all I get out of that is that our games have high free kick counts for both teams involved.
And WB’s and Collingwood are a protected species.

Three of the top ten! Feels good!

Pro tip when arguing about academies, just keep saying the phrase ‘growing the game’ over and over again, whether or not it makes sense, and people lose their minds.

It’s a tip I picked up from the Saudis and LiV golfers.

I wonder if the Dons had a better strike rate on secondly-surported team prior to their few years of arrongantly dismissing anyone not fully on board during their drug-saga defence period... then again maybe they were always arrogant tossers and would always have polled shall we say ... poorly!

I wonder if it is all the Richmond/Hardwick supporters voting for GC as their second favourite.

That Geelong Stadium numbers are interesting given they only average 21,000 people attending 9 games throughout season 2023. Capacily over 30K but not often filling it.

Capacity was down due to the building of a new stand.
Capacity will be more like 40,000 this year.

How to say you didn’t watch a Geelong home game last season, without actually saying you didn’t watch a Geelong home game.

The Geelong Football club should be very proud in the new stadium.
I have never been there so can't comment on the viewing or facilities.
Just going on the image below taken from austadiums it looks impressive.
Google maps images dated 2023 but no month indicated but they look the same.
Maybe the open-end section is the end product but i don't know.

Bet they still have one wing that's 10m narrower than the other tho. Amateurs.

The “open-end” looks like this now.

Not too much we did not know in relation to goal scoring.
Just need to replace Gunstons 22 goals.
Will the Lions just try and spread the goals around or look for another player in the preseason games?
If someone stands out in preseason games, then who makes way from that Grand final side.
As a reminder Gunston played 17 games, the last being round 22. He kicked 22 goals 14 behinds.

BRISBANE
Most goals:
Charlie Cameron (360)
Players with 100-plus career goals: 8 (Charlie Cameron, Joe Daniher, Eric Hipwood, Dayne Zorko, Lincoln McCarthy, Zac Bailey, Lachie Neale, Cam Rayner)
Players with 50-plus goal seasons: 2 (Charlie Cameron - 4 times, Joe Daniher - 2 times)
Leading goalkicker in 2023: Joe Daniher (61)
Average goals kicked in 2023: 13.8 (second most)
Players with 20-plus goals in 2023: 7 (Joe Daniher, Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Zac Bailey, Lincoln McCarthy, Cam Rayner, Jack Gunston)

Going on the paragraph below i assume this game is for players not on an AFL list.
........................................................

The AFL’s Head of State Leagues Jennie Loughnan expects the game to allow players to showcase their talents in front of AFL recruiters.

The entire VFL? SA vs the entire east coast.
