I am so far removed from being a traditionalist, but still think the weight of a player is important.
However, if players weights are taken from all sites i will not lose any sleep over it.
I just don't understand their logic in doing so, in what is a contact sport for elite sports people.
Without being certain i believe all players returning to preseason training would have to weigh in.
If clubs believe it is important why can't the supporters know should they wish to glance at the weight.
The listed weight may be not quite accurate, but it would be fairly close.
Fans pay money for the Record and Season Guide to read about the players.
If weight is not important because you can "get an idea""by looking at them" so is their height. So, why not get rid of that too.
Weight and height is very different
Much smaller range and weight fluctuates week on week and over the course of a game
We don't have a right or need to know all the physical and.lifestyle choices of players that could effect their performance
