Premier League was awesome in the 90s.

Love the old vision looking back, for me Serie A in the 90s was the absolute pinnacle I reckon. Best players in the world were there, more spread over a few leagues these days.

* I follow some s**t teams
Hammers
St Kilda
Melbourne City
Juventus is the only decent one but they love ******* up in the CL finals.

Hammers fan

Was a sucker for Paolo Di Canio back in the day...loved that prick

Another Hammers fan here. Tho i only watch it very loosely. Like you, i loved watching Paolo. He was a ripper

Newcastle from mates who followed them back in the Shearer era. Been lean since the good old days.

Got to love and respect the Geordies! They take “loyalty” to the next level (in my humble opinion) The toon haven’t won the premiership/league championship for 91 years. Their last major trophy win (FA Cup) was in 1955! A drought that makes our Saints pale by comparison..... and yet, those supporters have such passion and love for THEIR club. An example to all of us.....in my humble opinion.

Mums side of the family come from Southampton which is how I ended up as a StKilda supporter. They migrated in 1970 and my grandpa saw there was a VFL team called the Saints and picked them because they were the same name as the soccer team he followed. Poor bloke been following both teams ever since and seen very little success. Makes me wonder some times why I decided to follow both Saints teams.

True? I have no idea about him as a bloke

On his day ( and I emphasise THAT) undoubtedly a fine footballer. However, character-wise, a different kettle of fish. Left Glasgow Celtic where he was regarded as a god..... heading for the EPL with.......Sheffield Wednesday left them when it got too hard.... made the fascist salute to Roma fans when on Lazios books.
I repeat my assessment. A turd of a man.

Yeah, don't mind Newcastle I have to say. Another great football town, like the city of Liverpool. A few swapsies between the reds and toon that have benefited both clubs over the years. Happy that Rafa is there, hope he can turn fortunes around. Shame they've been driven into the ground by that Mike Astley guy.

The 90s were very Saints like With Shearer like Tony Lockett and a heap of stars coming through, Viduka was there Andy Cole, Ginola, Gazza etc. Lots of talent and characters and not much success.

They had a guy Mc Donald back in the 70s who was like Plugger..... 138 goals in 5 seasons..
